Who is the best speedster we could get at 8?

Corey Davis should definitely be under consideration.  Most complete WR in the draft, great speed and YAC, and ran the whole route tree in college.  He's also very productive on the nine route.  Read Matt Harmon's write up and I think you'll be intrigued by the prospect of Davis @ #8.

Every year there is an overhyped player that ends up falling dramatically. This year it is Corey Davis.

I've always felt he'd be picked in the 20s, and still think that. Doubt he falls much further than that but he's not a top 15 pick. Has the upside to be a legit #1 though. Not like a top 5 in the league Julio Jones type player but a solid weapon like a Jeremy Maclin.

Jeremy, obviously WR is out of play at 8, but is there a possibility we traded up into the late first for a wideout? They seem to like Ross, but won't reach for him of course. I hope we don't unless we're confident he could step in as our best wideout, but feel like it's a possibility. If you could provide some insight that'd be great.

Also, what about Fournette at 8 and trading up into the first for a top DE that could slip? (Barnett, Taco, etc.)

I think it might be Derek Barnett even though I do like him.

I could see one of the heavily hyped QBs slipping too. I can't see Watson, Trubisky, and Kizer all going in the 1st round.

Barnett could have an impact here  like Hardy did in 2013, in pass rushing, run defense and dropping back into coverage. Would love to snag him if he falls.

The level of competiton is my reservation with Davis, but these clips are ridiculous.  It will be interesting to see how much of this he can do against NFL talent.

I don't think he's going to fail, but I'm not sure he's worth a top 10 pick.  I'd personally put Fournette in that same category.

Outside of level of competition I don't what else anyone could ask for. Great route runner, good speed and amazing hands and concentration to make catches in traffic. Also has toughness and agility to create yards after the catch.

    • i think i go in the opposite direction of most. my ideal retirement is living in some old downtown area in a flat above some shop or something.  life out in the country was just something i got real tired of. My kids actually miss some of living out there, which i understand. that was where they grew up for the most part. 40 acres with a 2.5 acre pond. it was beautiful, but also way too much (and too expensive) for me to keep up with.
    • FLASHBACK: I remember back when ESPN was just starting--he was their anchor.  They used to show stuff like Rodeo and field hockey--I remember laughing when he went to a commercial mocking a cycling competition in Utah (or something similar--I made that up) and I laughed.  I told my dad, "We may have us a new anchor when we get back from commercial."  When they came back from commercial, Berman was looking very serious and he said, "Any comments by me do not reflect the views of ESPN....The men and women who cycle are dedicated athletes and we are honored to shine light on their sport." (Paraphrasing).  Dad laughed hysterically. My first memory of him--and that was like 1980.
    • Might not have a team without them. Although that probably applies to the Panthers, too.
