How to fix it (Offense)

Mr. Scot

Recommended Posts

I think we're going to have to start to rebuild to some degree after this season. Draft a QB and some WRs and acquire as much O-line depth as possible. Moose is old, Smitty is getting real beat up by being the focus of our passing game, and his ability to gain separation is questionable.

That said, to fix what needs fixing NOW, it all comes down to playcalling. I am going #%*^ing insane watching us throw an incompletion on first down, and then always, ALWAYS, run between the tackles on second down, and thus ensuring third and long. That's what happened Monday night in the second half. We don't have ANY imagination or wrinkles on offense. When we can't get the ball to our playmakers hands via the pass, then end arounds and/or reverses should be tried to do so. We had success using our TEs more in the passing game, I hope that continues. We tried no screen pases that I can recall Monday, though we've had some success with them in earlier games. I'm even in favor of letting Smitty return some kicks to get something generated.

Rosario's hands still get a little iffy sometimes, but I'd agree he's better than last year.

I'd largely written him off, but he's coming on again. Not fully there yet, but improved.

i think he's massively improved over last year. the only thing holding him back is the guy (not) throwing to him.

i was among those who had written him off and thought that barnidge had passed him up but rosario is one of the most versatile players on the team and has the potential to be one of the best playmakers if he were given more opportunities.

As long as there's no Hoov, no question, two TEs.

I second that. I never have given up hope that Rosario will turn it on. My faith was waining though. But I will wait and see what he does the rest of the season before I get to excited over him (he did the same thing last year with his week 1 performance then he drop off the map)

I just want to know what Barnidge did to get put so low on the depth chart or what did Rosario do so right. IMO Barnidge has the same speed as Rosario with better hands. Am I missing something?
