The three players selected right after Ealy

Not really Sam didn't go higher cause he was a limited athlete that peaked in college. But his peak at Mizzou was WAY better than Ealy's.

Of Sam's 10 sacks, 8 came against Ark St, Vandy, and a FL team that was sending water boys out to play OL. He was completely a result of teams giving attention to Ealy. And even then he couldn't do much against any good teams. Please tell another lie about watching film. Because I watched every SEC game they played.

The thing many people were saying then to draft a receiver instead of Ealy.

What does Turner have to do with this? We needed Olinemen, we really didn't need a DE.

30M in cap space for 2 DEs that he wanted gone, and it wasn't a need. And we had just took a WR.

And I didn't see anyone post the 3 players chosen after Trai, or KK, or Star. That's what Trai was about.

If you like Ealy coming out of college then it's pointless to have any further discussion with you.

Ealy over Robinson was Amini over Alshon all over again. Everyone except the blind knew it

Good to know you have never been wrong about any player.....ever. I may have gotten thrown off watching Ealy dominate Auburn in the SECCG, so sue me. I said I saw a case for taking both.

Fair enough, I whiffed hard on Agholor 2 years ago.

I can't remember if you're one of the Barnett fans but that's also why I'm not a fan of his. Outside of the Music City Bowl he's done nothing to impress me

Sam actually had more QB hurries than anyone in the sec, Thiers a Ealy vs UGA tape on YouTube, Sam is clearly the better college player.

We also had 30M in cap space tied up in our 2 DEs. One wasn't signing long term and one he wanted rid of his contract in the worst way. I liked both Ealy and ARob. There was plenty of logic behind the Ealy pick. He had prototype skills for a DE in our system. We've seen them in spurts. But never matured. He didn't work like anyone wanted, but he at least played average overall and they were able to get about mid 4th round value for him. That's not a complete bust. Trading up for Funchess, if he doesn't improve, is a complete bust.

The pick was not that bad at the time.  As I recall a lot of people had a 1st round grade on him.

Nope it wasn't a need, there was a draft in 2015 that could of solved that problem.

Those guys weren't luxury picks and were good since day 1

You want me to watch one game, when I already watched the season, as it happened? I watched them, fans watched them, and most importantly SCOUTS watched them. There is no comparison. Just stop. It wasn't close as the draft showed. Just because you say so, doesn't mean it's true.

If you don't like the thread title, stay out of it. For example you will never see me open a thread by Mr Miagi.

Plus Gettleman has moved on and admitted the mistake as well. So no need to come defend Gman on this anymore even if you believe he can do no wrong.

As for the pick, almost half if not more than the huddle itslef hated the pick. I was 10000% on the Allen Robinson train. He was exactly what Gman himself said we needed pre draft.

When Kony was still on the board, I looked over to my friend who doesent follow the draft as hard and warned him it was about to happen. I knew Gettleman couldn't resist.

Side note, I'm amazed some of these receivers make it out of the first round year after year. Alshon and Robinson are 2 that I gladly would have spent a first on and that was well before the drafts.

Not trying to say I'm some draft guru, as I would have taken Jeffery or Janoris Jenkins ahead of Luke. Both ended up going in the 2nd and Luke will be one our best picks in history.

Sure. Go into 2015 off season with no DE besides CJ and his ridiculous contract,  no cap space to get one, and no better than the # 25 pick in the draft to find a starting DE. And no choice but to pick one and ignore any other position. Good plan. Much better than thinking ahead a little.

Yeah fans watched the comittee watched and they all agreed Sam was better. Last time I checked Ealy didn't SEC dpoy, he wasn't a all American.

Like I said as far as college players go it wasn't even close

Yep and I learnt there may be some truth to this whole USC and WR thing.

Ive had to pump the brakes on Ju-Ju

I'll give you two things to always avoid. Alabama OL and CBs. Ever wonder how such a dominant physical running program can't produce a single OL that has made a team glad they took them. Same for CBs. I have a theory, but as an Auburn fan it comes off as Petty.
