34 1/4" arms for Ealy, 32 1/8" arms for Barnett. Ealy is a much longer athlete.

Again measurables but not much difference in size and weight.. What were kony's bench press numbers and 40 time..

Cj was only a 3rd round pick because he came out a year early then he should have and didn't have the resume.. Barnett resume alone is top 5..

It isn't about what you've done in college, it's about what you're projected to do in the NFL based on the step up in competition.

I like Barnett, but I want to see what he does at his pro day. The list of great college players who simply didn't translate to the pro level is a long one.

That's Bullshit.. than let's draft every 6'6 motherfuger in the gym.. That's how Gm's lose their job.. They fall in love with a statue and pass over actual football player with great production and a love for the game..

6'2" with a 4.84 40 is why CJ was available in the 3rd round.

I basically see Thomas as a slightly taller/longer and more athletic version of CJ. Both primarily win with strength at the point of attack, but Thomas has more burst to win with speed too.

The question is, would a longer, more athletic version of CJ be worth the #8 overall pick? IMO, yes.

I see your point on arm length. The weight seems very similar. Thomas is quicker by a tenth of a second. On the flip side he isn't a specialist edge and he played in a 3-4. His production is clearly less at college level. Seems to even out to me.. Does that really make him a clearer cut selection?.

It's not bullshit. The college game and the NFL game are different. How often is a guy truly going up against a future NFL starter? It's not about what he can do against college competition, it's about projecting what he's going to be able to do against NFL competition.

Just remember, Michael Sam was the SEC DPOY not too long ago. The Golden Calf of Bristol is one of the best college football players ever. Keyshawn Garrett was the NCAA leading WR and we picked him up as a UDFA and he couldn't even make the active roster of a team with a pitiful WR corps.

I know everyone seems to like Thomas but I still just don't see a great 4-3 DE when I watch him. I don't see the bend around the corner, I don't see a guy who is going to blow by tackles, I just don't see it. I think he would make a solid UT, or a 3-4 end but he will just be so so as a 4-3 end in my limited knowledge based football opinion.

I actually do see that with Barnett though. Reminds me of CJ.

We'll see. I think Thomas is the safer pick but I do like Barnett.

Nope the vid tribute

Watch the draft breakdown on him too. They literally show him at DE in a 4-3 formation.

What game does he even play 40% at DE in a 43?

Until someone provides a game saying otherwise, hee played in a 34 look atleast 90% of every game.

Not game, season. PFF counted his snaps at DE and DT.

DE in a 34 look.

If one can not even find one game of him in a 43 look as a DE 40% of the time I don't care what PFF says.

Not sure why you are trying to debate this. Not even debatable.

ST played mostly in a 34.
