Only problem is you're not making the pick. It will be interesting. I really now think he may wait even to round 3 for DE. Regardless will be very interested to see if everyone is right about Barnett and how he turns out. I reckon there will be higher profile picks than him who turn out bigger busts.

After the Kony trade i doubt they wait till the 3rd .. Most of their rotation is over 30.. And the finaical line up at getting either a top young pass rusher in the 1st or 2nd round and not paying them for 4 or 5 years while you pay Short, Star and Butler..

A few tell tell signs ppl..

Look at the difference in highlight videos..

1.Alot of TAco sacks come on blitzes, Dline stunts or with somebody else getting the intial pressure making the QB move in Taco direction..

Many of Barnetts sacks come off of him beating the man infornt of him with just a 4 or 5 man rush and he is usually the 1 providing the intial pressure and getting the sack..

2. Taco highlight film is based off 1 season.

Barnett is a combination of 3..

I agree with you. Taco is a bust waiting to happen. Someone will probably take him in the 2nd based on his measurables. I just hope it isn't us. He has the measurables Dave covets. This is one of those situations where I think the media is right over the talent evaluators. Taco was being mocked in the 5th-7th rounds early on but now that the media is starting to get a better feel for what the actual football talent evaluators think, he's getting potential 1st round talk. Ridiculous. Measurables say 1st round. Actual play says late round flier.

Again I'm a UM fan and i hate dogging Taco.. And potential alone he is a 2nd round pick.

But on actual production, showing effort and technic on tape.. Barnett is the best DE in this draft..

Even Garrett wasn't as consistant as Barnett was..

I know everyone seems to like Thomas but I still just don't see a great 4-3 DE when I watch him. I don't see the bend around the corner, I don't see a guy who is going to blow by tackles, I just don't see it. I think he would make a solid UT, or a 3-4 end but he will just be so so as a 4-3 end in my limited knowledge based football opinion.

Honestly, I thought the same from watching him play but he showed those things at the Combine. One thing about Thomas is that the guy hardly ever came off the field. Kinda like Short at Missouri, he was playing a lot of football flat out exhausted. Despite that, he was still dominating. I liked him before the Combine, but not at #8. After the Combine, I wouldn't be upset at all if we took him at #8.

If your trying to see a guys tape off highlight videos I can't take you seriously. Go on Draftbreakdown and literally watch every snap of the game the guy took. Do it for Taco, Barnett and Thomas and put your bias aside. It really won't take you more than an hour. If your not impressed with Taco when you come back to post I'll be surprised.

Then you haven't watched him play. Period.

I'll admit all I've seen is YouTube highlights but he isn't an edge rusher. He is successful off stunts and interior rushes but he isn't going off the corner bending around tackles getting to the qb. Now he wasn't asked to do that since he played in the 3-4 but until I see he can do it I'm going to remain skeptical. Not that I think Barnett is worth a top 10 pick but at least I know he can bend on the edge and get around the corner based off his tape.

That's the argument for Barnett or Thomas. Both undersized but relentless. In the context of the Kony bust does DG want to risk another prototypical DE who may be like Kony based on a higher ceiling? Time will tell.

Thomas isn't really undersized. Sure, you'd like him to be an inch or two taller ideally, but 6'3" 273 is good size for a 4-3 DE.

Some teams will flag Barnett as undersized though. Same height as Thomas but arms were an inch shorter and he's almost 15 pounds lighter.

I don't need to go to draftbreakdown i saw Taco for 4 years..

Youtube actual has video of every snap that player had during a game but i didn't want to post a 10 min to 15 minute video..

But again.. What does the actual Production Tell you???

1. 1 Player steps up his final year in school (what does that sound like?) In the pro's it would be like a guy in a contract year stepping up to get a big deal right??

The other player from day 1 he step on campus was beating the best competition in college football and did it every year he was in school..

This isn't that hard to see.

So how then is Barnett undersized? 6'3" 259 at combine but 10 LBS more normally, when not sickas he was at the combine. Point is neither are considered desirable in the prototypical mold but because of these stats Barnett's stock is dropping but Thomas' isn't. I don't get it.

Thomas played inside mostly for Stanford. He isn't a screamer off the edge like I want.

So I am hesitant to want us to draft him.

I want someone with adequate size and athleticism who produced in college and is hell off the edge.

The person who best fits that mold is Barnett.
