Which DE is worth a shot in this years draft

Taco doesn't have just the prototype size. The guy can flat out play. I've watched plenty of Michigan games, the guy is straight dominant against top flight competition. He's an absolute force. Again this doesn't mean Solomon Thomas is trash, he has a serious motor and can certainly get after the QB. I would be more than excited to get any one of these guys, with Barnett being behind both of them.

i disagree, watching film he disappears and is a fool when it comes to counters, gets sucked in and gives up the edge. Looks great physically though.

Solomon Thomas is going to be the second best DE prospect in this class and the only one worth drafting at #8.

Barnett, Charlton, McDowell, etc. would all be reaches that early.  They lack the athleticism of Garrett and Thomas and should be late 1 or day 2 prospects.

Johnson is older and injury prone, Peppers going on 37. Horton not a pass rusher and Delaire is a jag. Addison is the guy on the rise. What can we expect DG to do in the draft to infuse the spot with new talent.

You're correct in Johnson and Peppers.  Also, I believe Addison has something to prove and probably will.  Peppers will be used sparingly, in my opinion.  Peppers is probably going to help develop Addison and whom ever is drafted.  Delaire could also benefit from Peppers.  Just the way I see it.

Yeah if team wants a DE at 8, then I like Thomas and Charleton. I don't want Allen or Barnett I don't think they have the size or athleticism to play on the edge.

I wonder if after getting burned on Kony Ealy DG will consider motor and heart more than previously when drafting.Yeah, probably not. Its funny that physique is used to knock Barnett considering Thomas is shorter than Barnett and the weight difference between them is negligible. Also that he played a lot inside so isn't a true DE compared to Barnett. They  both had awesome bowl games but somehow only Thomas saw his draft stock rise.

If Adams is gone at 8, then Thomas is our pick.  I also feel DG trades back into the first and takes Obi or another quality DE.

I could live with either but prefer Thomas first...I know Fournette is the glam pick ... who knows maybe the draft itself will pick our guy...

I know everyone seems to like Thomas but I still just don't see a great 4-3 DE when I watch him. I don't see the bend around the corner, I don't see a guy who is going to blow by tackles, I just don't see it. I think he would make a solid UT, or a 3-4 end but he will just be so so as a 4-3 end in my limited knowledge based football opinion.
