Things that are obvious after day 2

Obvious to me: we are drafting Ross at 8 for speed, and Godwin with the Pats late 2nd. Doubling up on WR. Both would be upgrades to the guys we just signed. And then Funchess gets traded to Detroit for a 3rd. We draft a S and a LB with the 3rd round picks. End of story.

lol we'd be lucky to get a 6th round pick for Funchess...

I will bet you $5000 that we do NOT take Ross at 8

Yea you might wanna rethink that no Corner idear.

This draft is so fugin stacked at corner it's crazy whose still going to be there in the 2nd. White, Tankersly, and King for example.

I could easily see corner as a dark horse 2nd round pick and it would be beyond sick value quite frankly.

Put it this way...if THIS was the draft we went 3 corners instead of last year....forget about it just like you'd forget about Brees and Julio Jones when they did 0 against that.

I'm not so certain that the DL is set. Still expecting a DE to be taken fairly early. IMO, trading Ealy virtually confirmed it. CJ and Peppers are just stopgaps at this point.

I think we might pick Taco as he fits the big athletic guy who is raw with big upside. He brought in Peppers to make a push for a Superbowl and mentor our DE draft pick.

1. We trust Worley to start. We wouldn't take another rookie corner esp after signing Capn. I'd hate to see Capn on the outside if Worley goes south. There's still time to bring in a veteran, but this is no on their radar.

2. The line is set with no questions. If healthy and jelling, it's gonna be a top 5 unit.

3. Drafting a WR at 8. We lose two speedsters and have brought in two special teamers. We need an impact speedster.

4. They are happy with Gano and that needs to change. I guess kickers could wait, but Gano needs to go.

5. Getting a 2nd rounder back for wasting on on Ealy (which was a reach at the time), but it proves all Gettleman's moves dont pay off.

6. Panthers overlooking character issues with bringing back a player in Peppers with known motor issues. He'll only play in passing situations, but still. It's a ticking time bomb and we don't need that rubbing off on Benjamin. Maybe this is a sign we grab Cook.

7. We still don't have a fullback. Wonder what the wait is?

1. NO. Worely had maybe half a rookie season where he had played solid. The body of work isn't there to say the Panthers 100 percent trust him as the CB2 of the future. I would not at all be suprised if the draft another CB at least for depth and maybe to compete with Worely for #2 and use Worely as the #3 depth coming off the bench. Would not suprise me in the slightest and not a bad move as long as its not with pick #8.

2. Oline or Dline? Oline we dont know if Oher will come back, we do not know how well Kalil will play, far from a certainty. Yes Dline is pretty good for now,  but don't be suprised if we draft a young guy IN ANY ROUND in the draft. Peppers is far from a permanent solution, CJ has been declining in the past few years, Addison had one good year and the rest are rotational guys.

3. NOT a certainty. There is such a huge talent pool at 8 you're basically saying we will absolutely reach for a need at 8 when there's a huge talent pool and game changers like Jamal Adams , Leonard Fournette, Jonathan Allen, Malik Hooker, Solomon Thomas could be there. In fact its BECAUSE we have such good players already on the DLine it makes it an ideal environment for a young DE to thrive on if Peppers and/or Short is getting doubled.

4. Totally agree, he was a huge problem last year

5. I agree there too but at least we got something for him. Moving up to the bottom of the 2nd with our high 3rd might not seem like much but there's any number of players that would have gone in the top 7 in the 3rd before we could draft them, now we can have a chance to get one of them with the last pick in the 2nd. You could think of it as the #1 3rd round pick instead of the last 2nd round pick.

6. Not sure about Cook, but I acknowledge the possibility. I have no idea how high he is on the Panthers draft board but I imagine the have leonard rated much higher. If he fell to pick 40 or we trade down its more of a possibility to pick Cook.

7. Good point. There's a couple decent ones that could be had in the 5th to 7th rounds in the draft.

I disagree on many of your points. CB is still a need. We still lack depth there and it's one of the deepest cb drafts in a while. I expect to see a CB before the 3rd round and possibly the 1st dependent on how the board falls.

I'm not sure about character issues with Peppers...there were bigger concerns with Ealy. Peppers is a 1st ballot HOFER who has taken tremendous care of his body and has never been in trouble.

Trading Ealy was a good move. Peppers even at 37 will out produce him and a guy like Barnett or Thomas could greatly benefit if either one of them end up being the pick.

I do agree that our Oline  is much improved if they can stay healthy...and Gano is a bum...we need to replace him. Hell...we may draft a kicker.

We still have work to do.  We need playmakers at the WR position.  We have not had a take the top off WR with skills since Agent89.  I'm very concerned with the OL.  We are putting all our marbles on a guy that hasn't been healthy in 4 years and still don't know if Oher will ever play again.  Right now we have Kalil and Williams.  We have to find quality depth. We still need to be very productive in the draft.  We need to hit on a RB, OT, WR, TE, DE, SS and CB.  We have work to do.

pretty much this. Productive FA but we still have holes in the roster/uncertainties/limited depth at select positions
