They knew they were not going to pay him in 2 years.  He has more trade value with 2 years on his rookie deal than he would have had next year with only one year left.  

It was a cap move...just not a desperation move but one they planned ahead for.

Cooks is perfect for NE's system. Pats smart to try to load up to maximize Brady's final year(s). Not sure why NO keeps trading away their top weapons and not trying to maximize Brees' final year(s).

Hate to say it, but NE will likely win the next Super Bowl. We can hate them all we want, but they want to win worse than any other franchise.

Thank GOODNESS they won the LAST Super Bowl, but the odds were astronomical after nearly 3 quarters of play.  A 40 year old statue in January/February is still a 40 year old statue in January/February, even if it's a GOAT 40 year old statue.  Father Time is the real GOAT.

I actually like the trade for the Saints, Cooks didn't want to be there anymore and Thomas looks to be a number one. The signing of Ginn kinda sealed it. Surprised they didn't get Butler in the deal but happy they didn't 

New England will be bad one day.
