Fournette, Adams, Hooker would play under my criteria of 75 percent of snaps.

Probably.. But like i said i don't think they will be at 8 and i don't think he will move up to get them...

Gettleman

Maybe that's your problem.. You don't know what the value of these players are any way..

And guess what ..

2 dimes and nickle do the same thing as a quarter..

Question for you. Is it worth taking a Solomon Thomas or Derek Barnett at 8 that might play 40-60% of total snaps or get a Jamal Adams or OJ Howard that might play 75%+ snaps, then look at guys like Tanoh from Villanova or another project DE with upside to groom  alongside the vets at DE.

That is a great question.  I also LOVE Tanoh and your suggestion is very possible.  However,  I see all of our DEs as situatiional due to age or skill set.  I also look at Adams and think, "How much emphasis have we traditionally put into SS?  We pluck players off other teams' benches.  I like OJ, but again, we have Greg O and TEs in the first round are rare.  I think we could go after a Jake Butt later in the draft--maybe the Norman pick.

I think we are looking toward Palo Alto.  Thomas and then maybe trade up for McCaffry.  Do not rule out WR--we need a true #1, although I see Charles Johnson as a player we are going to love.

As the last 24 hours have proven, Gettleman is playing a game way, way over your heads. You have no idea of what he's going to do in the draft.

TRUE.  But that is what makes this fun. He is trying to fill needs so he can draft BPA.

Maybe we set up a package of picks to go to 1 and get Myles Garrett

That's my thinking too! With the DE's we have, they are old to be blunt good. We have no youth at all after trading Ealy!! Grabbing Garrett and have him learn with Peppers and Johnson, would be invaluable to Garrett's growth and learning curve!!! Do it DG!!!

After Howard's combine and then rewatching his highlights, I see him as a bigger, better, more polished prospect for what I believe Gettleman was hoping Kelvin and Funch would develop into.

I could definitely see a team with a young QB using him as a #1/2 WR and trying to mimic what we do with KB/Funch. It would not be a huge risk grooming him as a receiver for a number of reasons, and even though it's obvious he will be a beast tight end, I see very little risk of failure at receiver, imho.

Okay, so maybe not over your head, then! Gettleman is playing this game like a fellow who knows what he is doing and hasn't been left in desperate straights.

And he is getting some good vets in who can help coach up some of the young talent on our roster. I also think the Kalil signing is going to be a good one for us. We have a crackerjack OL coach who has gotten players to give their best efforts, something that I don't think they had in Minnesota.

Honestly I have no idea what the team is going to do at 8 or first 3 rounds. I like Solomon Thomas but I am not sure he is going to be there.  Also, how many roster spots at DE do we have remaining, one with Kony gone? I'm asking because I think we kept 5 DE last year.

I want McCaffrey and OJ Howard. I think are biggest problems on offense was not putting enough stress on opposing team's LB and S and we allowed them to play downhill. Howard and McCaffrey force them to cover in space. I think Cam was the most blitzed QB in the NFL if we don't have a remedy for that this year it does not matter how good the defense will be.

My two cents:  GMan will move in the draft, probably up similar to what he did to grab Funchess, if memory serves.  Don't think he's moving above 8.  Too costly.  I think he'll sit pat and pounce on either Fournette, Adams, Thomas, Allen or Barnette.  I typically hate taking RB, but I'm kind of hoping we gamble on Fournette if he's there.  I hope it's not Allen.  Feel we need more of an edge rusher if we go DE.  My money is on Thomas or Barnette as the actual pick.

Trade back with Cleveland and get Barnett

Use the NE second rounder and Cleveland's second to move up and get Ross in the first

Use our second rounder to get Obi

Use the 3rd round comp pick to get the Iowa TE

Use the 4th rounder to get Perine

Use the 5th on a developmental LT like Davenport

Use the sixth and seventh for whatever.

Celebrate

Congratulations you just won Bowl 52 on Madden

Solomon Thomas has the hands, size, and quickness to move inside and rush, allowing Addison and Peppers to rush from the outside.  I think we need to understand 2 things--1.  Our defense relies on the front 4.and a pass rush.  2. This defense is very old at DE, with its top 3 players at the position with an average age of 33.  DEs normallly take a year to develop--I see drafting an early DE as something that is really not that debatable.  Trading Ealy speaks volumes.

I don't even like Barnett at this point - unless he improves his athletic testing at his pro day (sick at the combine, which is why he was under his game weight - but I would gladly take this draft.

I'd also prefer Budda Baker to Obi.  Game tape seems much better to me.
