IMHO if Fournette is there he's a Panther. The rest of the league reportedly doesn't want that so I doubt he gets past 7 teams.

RB is one of the only positions a rookie can come in and have an immediate impact. I hope they value the opportunity to get a very good to elite runningback in the first this year. OJ Howard wouldn't hurt either and then try to get McCaffrey but we've gotta get a stud RB though IMHO.

Stew is top notch and has blessed our franchise with quiet greatness all these years and we'll look back at his career here in wonderment one day but it's time to find his successor and they can't be a slouch.

#34 and #28 were some of our best 1st rounders ever. Panthers know the value of an elite runningback. If DeAngelo and Stew were regular guys they'd be out of the NFL by now.

He took Shaq and Butler last 2 years and they weren't going to get big playing time..

True but this time he has a top 10 pick. You were in position to add to a position of strength and plan for the near future but with 8, I assume immediate starter

If Fournette is there i think they pull the tigger.. Cook and McCaffery are not their type of Backs.. So i think they would pass and go another position or trade down...

Fournette and the Safeties will not be there at 8.. Gettleman trades down to a needy team into the teens gets back a 2nd or 3rd rounder.  selects a Skill weapon in the 1st for Cam and then goes Defense with the multiple 2nd and 3rd round picks.

He also like value and he isn't going to reach to get a day one starter..

I can see a Howard or Barnett maybe Ross as well  at 8 if the big 4 isn't there (Fournette, Adams, Hooker or Thomas).. But neither one of them would be day one staters either..

This is what i see happening..

Some of you might want to get use to him not valuing RB's like you do...

Gman might be in the '"really not liking to spend a 1st round pick on a devalued position like RB" club.. He is all about value and he has that NY Giants philosphy .. They never draft 1st round RB's..

Tell me again  who was in the playoffs this year

The Panthers, so they say, are a running team

if Fournette is there, and they don't take him based in a NY Giants belief of value, then Gettleman should be shown the door

Simple and plain.

You don't pass on the next probable great running back over a philosophy and draft picks like Artis-Payne and Barner

Fournette, Adams, Hooker would play under my criteria of 75 percent of snaps.

Are you not reading what is typed..

If Fournette is there he is the pick.. I think he is the only RB they would draft in the 1st round..

I don't think he will be there and they won't trade up to get him..

    • I like that a lot; Ware from Troy and also Khalil Mack who played at University of Buffalo
    • I remember the Huddle consensus over the course of last season and the previous one. Lots of Bryce is a bust, we should've drafted a 4th slot WR, should've kept Wilks, should've kept an armless Cam, etc etc. So... yea... already thought about that. I wouldn't trust the Huddle to detail my car, let alone run a multi-billion dollar professional sports team. 😛
    • bold prediction, I think Mike Green will be the best pass rusher in this class, and thats even with abdul carter.  He reminds me of demarcus ware, not just in size and prowess, but even coming from a Sunbelt school (Ware from Troy, Green from Marshall).  I think he is passionate about the sport where I think Carter as the physical freak might not have the heart.  Thats the guy Im sold on and am gonna hammer the table for, I know he's not projected 8, but he is projected like 12-13, so if a slide back can happen and we still get the guy I want, I'm 100% on board. All that said, it takes 2 to tango, I think the Cowboys are the tango-er.  IMO theres a VERY good shot that Jeanty is available at 8.  Why does that matter?  Not only do the cowboys NEED a runningback (dak sucks without a run game), but MORE importantly, gee where did Jeanty play in high school.....Frisco TX, literally Dallas Metro.  Soo, RB is a position of need and the best RB and most blue chip draft selection that  could improve the offense immensly played IN dallas metro AND will be in range for them to move up and pick?  Do ya think Jerry Jones is gonna just say no to the Jersey Sales?  Jerry might have sexually assaulted a woman and attempted to prevent black people from going to school, but he's no idiot (he is).  IMO, we get a good enough package, prlly their first and third,  maybe a conditional later and we move to 12.  We get Green, they get Jeanty, everbuddy happy.
