IMHO We are not drafting Fournette.  That will upset some folks, but DEs take time to develop.  We have 3 over the age of 30 and the other is a 4/5th DE on his best. day.

The draft is loaded at RB.  The draft is NOT loaded at DE or SS.

I think we will draft a DE in the first (Thomas, Barnett, or Taco?).  Yes, Fournette would be nice, but I sense that GMs have devalued RBs and they are going to be there in the third round.

Yes, we signed Peppers, but he may not finish the season. CJ has been banged up in 11 years, and Addison is 30 now.  Yes, we could ignore the problem and hope for a rookie DE next year, but trading Ealy was a huge tell.

IN addition, WR just got important--so is SS behind a 36-year old starter.  I am guessing that RB is 4th on the list right now.

That exactly my point.. The trading of Ealy made it clear for me..

If you guys seriously think G-man is signing players now based on who he thinks is going to be available when we pick 8th you are sorely mistaken on how any of this works.

What is going on is G-man right now is trying to fill as many holes on the team as possible through Free Agency before the draft.  And our picks in the draft will be used to fill current needs not filled through free agency and future needs based on the signs that we are making right now.

This is how it works, this is how it works every fuging year......

 Sincerely

the guy that's been around watching the off-seasons on this Board since 2005.

Cool.. I thought you said he would package picks to move up in the 1st round..

So, our bet currently is, if whether or not Fournette or Adams are there at 8? $10. I say yes, you say no. Let's do it!

This is how the Huddle should function BTW

Rb deep draft means you can get a guy to split carries with Stew in the 3rd or 4th round.. Not to mention they gave Fozzy a 2 year deal not 1.. So he is also in the plans..

I'm not talking a guy to split carries with Stew. I'm talking a guy that can be the featured back for us. We don't need a bunch of guys who can just split carries with each other. We've had that the past several years and Cam has BEEN the rushing threat. The point is to get a guy who is that threat so that Cam doesn't have to be. Having that will ensure that Cam can be a threat with his legs without him being THE threat on the ground. Stew has, what, 1 10+ yard run every 5 games lately? That's not good enough. We need a guy that can make a defense pay enough to say "ok, we gotta focus in on that RB". Then, Cam's strength of throwing off play action can truly be utilized.

There are a lot of RBs in the draft. There are not a lot of RBs that can be THE guy in your backfield in the draft. That's my point. One of the big 2 will be there at 8. One of them will be a Panther.

Question for you. Is it worth taking a Solomon Thomas or Derek Barnett at 8 that might play 40-60% of total snaps or get a Jamal Adams or OJ Howard that might play 75%+ snaps, then look at guys like Tanoh from Villanova or another project DE with upside to groom  alongside the vets at DE.

hes already stretched out if his comfort zone the past 2 days.

im not sure we can make that judgment. this is the first offseason that we havent been in Cap Hell. i think we are seeing the Gettle in his natural habitat now....

As the last 24 hours have proven, Gettleman is playing a game way, way over your heads. You have no idea of what he's going to do in the draft.

^this 1,000,000%. im just sitting back and enjoying the ride. this is gonna be an exciting offseason and hopefully and exciting year of football

I may be the only one that doesn't want John Ross. Yes his speed is very attractive, i've seen a lot of Washington games and I am very aware of what he is capable of doing. The fact remains is that his knees are ticking time bombs. Huge huge risk. I wouldn't want to spend a high draft pick on him. Maybe, just maybe a second. But not a first. Not even a late first.

I'm enjoying the ride too but we weren't in a cap he'll that much last year. He's doing things this off-season he's never done with us before

Look at who he feeling the holes with..

Again Gman has never been a go in for a 1 season run type of guy..

If he was he would have done it after 13 -3 team in 2013. Instead of reshaping 2 position groups.. Or he would have done it after the superbowl year.. Keep the group together instead of reshaping the secondary..

The only player he signed with value for more than 2 years is Kail..

He would have signed younger players if he wasn't going to use the draft to get future value at the holes he filled with older players with 1 or 2 years left..

He is always thinking foward..

His last 2 1st round picks were players in position with future value in mind.

You can get feature RB from this draft in later rounds.. Deepest draft from RB's in years.. Not to mention they only like 1 of the big 2 in the 1st.. And he won't be there at 8 imo.

He took Shaq and Butler last 2 years and they weren't going to get big playing time..
