Kony got 3 years, the time it takes to get a rookie up to the level of play as a pro according to Dave.   You be the Judge.

He had the athletic ability but apparently not the desire.  At least not as a Panther.  The benefactor of this trade is yet to be determined.

When you can cut ties and get something for it, its a win. KE has the talent and maybe NE is what he needs.

This seems like an awful deal. We move up 8 picks in the 2nd rd and we give away Kony's last year. Guys we didn't get much. The Pats have the last pick in round 2 and we have one of the earlier ones in round 3. This is basically like cutting Kony before his final year and we get to move up 8 spots.

Typical pats move. Guy showed promise in 2015 playoffs and Pats swoop in buying extremely low. 8 spot move in the 3rd is chump change. If Pats extend him prior to the season, they get a steal and gman is the fool again. This is their Chris Long replacement on the cheap.

Smells like Welker's time with phins to when he was acquired by Pats.

GMan has been a part of eight Super Bowl teams himself pal.  8 spot move in this case is equal to a late 4th/early 5th, for a guy that would have been cut after drafting a guy in April with a new 4 or 5 year rookie deal.

It's Kony Ealy. Wait until we see what that pick becomes before judging.

Yea but that's a good point regardless.

Welker had like 400 then 600 yards then went to the Pats and was more than worth it.

Ealy has 4, 5, 5 sacks so it's not like he contributed nothing and it's a similar situation.
We just need more and he's not consistent.

No kidding.  That pick could be worth a lot more than meets the eye if there's not an early run on QBs and the same teams at the top of the board are still looking in Round 3.  Never know.

Mixed feelings on this.

The only thing I can believe is that Ealy had hit a wall and wasn't going any higher.  DG figured he would get something instead of nothing.   I believe someone commented that 8 spots in the late 2nd early 3rd is worth a 4th or 5th round player.  So we traded Ealy for a 2nd and 4th.

This also frees up cash.  Not sure what Ealy's salary was but it had to be at least million per

The part that gets me. Billicheat NEVER does a fair deal he always works it where he makes out.
