We must have known 100% that we were going to cut him. Otherwise this trade doesn't make sense.

I would bet almost anything we knew it. Gettleman admits he made a mistake in drafting him, and Kony isn't one of Ron's guys due to lack of worth ethic and not listening to coaches.

I'm good with the trade now, but it just fuging pisses me off that we wasted that pick. I never liked the Ealy pick, but now I fuging hate it. The Panthers needed receivers that year in the worst way, and they let several legit ones slip by for a player that ended up being trash.

Dude, we went to the super bowl a year later. Unless you have a flux capacitor, you need to quit worrying about poo like that.

Considering at the time I thought the pick was bad I don't need poo. Maybe if we had solid receiver that could catch a fuging ball we might have won that Super Bowl.

I fiqured DG wasn't going to drop any more big cash in FA (never does), instead he is going "the pile up picks route" and spend the cash there. The man is playing chess this year instead of checkers. Approve or not. he has a plan.

The thing that a lot of zero-sum people don't want to admit (not pointing the finger at you here MH) is that, sometimes, a trade works out as a positive for BOTH teams.

It doesn't always have to be that one team WON and one team got ROBBED!

I agree with you.  We got something for a player we were likely to cut and NE is taking a flyer on a guy fior little comp.

Works for both

At the end of the day is this as a wash slight advantage for both teams. Ealy was labeled a 2nd round bust since we drafted him. We did give up our 3rd for him. But got a 2nd rounder in return. I see this as we just got our 2nd back for a bust. People getting upset and relying purely on one game performance.

No it's not. 8 spots can make a HUGE difference in this draft. Ealy was straight crap

So we admit that we are trading a player we drafted in the second round because he is crap....with the hope that we will use another second rounder to find an all pro?

Any player drafted outside the top 10 in the first round (and even then it's not a guarantee) is a crap shoot.   You act like we are guarenteed  to get a stud by moving up 8 spots.
