patterson has to realize it's not about the money DG offers him to play in Carolina, but more about the lucrative future contract he'll get with another team once Cam and Shula make him a superstar (i.e Ginn).

Patterson, trust me. Take less money and play with the Panthers. It'll be the best financial decision of your life.
