Is anyone else frustrated?

The Question

I actually think we are having a pretty good offseason so far, aside from that awful Kalil contract(the $25 million guaranteed makes it dreadful, regardless of structure).

If we really do sign Peppers and a couple of other guys at need positions, we might be set up to have a very nice draft. We just need all these assholes ahead of us to stop filling their QB needs.

If we can get Patterson/Munnerlyn/Cruz that would be fantastic.   Heading into the draft in a good spot.

OK, here you go:

6-92-1TD Win 20-14

8-115-1TD Loss 37-19

4-94 Loss 13-9

9-109-1TD Loss 19-17

8-104 Win 19-17

Out of his best yardage games, which accounted for more than 50% of his yardage and receptions, all were close games/wins aside from Pittsburgh and KB had 44 yards before half time when it was a 9-3 game. Trying to say as a rookie that he was all garbage time is crap since half his yards weren't and I am not even looking at any other game.

If we didn't count any garbage time stats then there'd be a lot less receiving yards in the league, but he wasn't just a garbage time guy. He was a legit WR1 who was a rookie. We'll see what happens this year, but I disagree he isn't a #1WR.

We were coming from behind on so many of his yards.   The Philly game, which was like 2 TD's.    Baltimore.   Green Bay.  Saints.   Minn.   I looked at the play by plays and when his yardage occurred, even though I remembered, just to be sure.   I'd say close to half his stats were garbage time playing vs prevent.     He's a great WR, but no, he's not a #1.    Our WR's were almost the worst last year on getting open and KB is a part of that.     I think he could still have a monster year, depending on our scheme and the guys we pick up, don't get me wrong, but he'll never be THAT guy like Antonio Brown, Hopkins, etc.

Also KB tied the league in 2014 with drops.

You, and sunshine pumpers are never going to be confused for each other. If you think negative thoughts, negative things tend to happen.

There is a yuge philosophical difference between being frustrated over the past, and being hopeful for the future.

Up in here? Most folks are stuck in the past, expecting the same ol, same ol. FA is less than a day old. The draft is still a month away. Yet, you have folks all a twitter because they just know we are going to suck again.

Yea, that's being realistic.

Try being optimistic around here. You get treated like a red headed step child with a brain disorder.

I'm good.  I'll be realistic, and see where it gets me.

I think its that DG is always going to look to the future.
I mean even if we sign D Jackson. He's only going to be useful for maybe two seasons before he's not worth it anymore. And despite our cap room we are caught in a place where we need to retain our own guys.
Torrey Smith would have been a decent signing but I'd argue Ginn is a better weapon than he is.  And we let him walk.
The biggest thing DG needs to do is protect Cam Newton and give the man some weapons.
The defense has Luke Keuchly, TD, KK, Shaq, Star and Bradberry. All whom display top of the league talent. It just needs help generating a pass rush. They will be formidable. But the offense has some serious concerns that need to be addressed.

He needs to master to art of looking to the future but also dealing with the "right now."

God, I hate when BS like this is spread. Go look at the game logs. His rookie year stats were not filled with garbage time stats. Not even close. Only one of his solid games was in a blowout, the rest wins/very close games. I've refuted that with real stats and actually looking into it multiple times instead of just saying what you thought you heard from somewhere. His rookie year was great, period.

Also, it's been posted in here a few times as well that Proehl himself said that Benjamin wasn't fully recovered when they though he was. He had a phenomenal camp and a great first couple games. I'm not going to make excuses for everything, but I think he wasn't fully back and he went too hard too soon. First year back from ACL tears outside of Peterson are always rougher and we let him do too much too soon. Look at the last few weeks when he seemed to get his groove back.

Last note, he sure as fug didn't seem soft in the last game when he stiffed armed Grimes. I think KB is a #1 WR and will be fully healthy and have a great season.

I don't think that KB is a so-called #1 receiver because he doesn't run good enough routes. That being said, I think there are few true WR1s in the league. I don't even necessary like the term anymore because it doesn't really mean anything substantive and us highly subjective. I look at a receiving corps in terms of playmakers who can effectively play certain roles thereby complementing the entire corps. The true 1s are plug and play in the X, Y and Z positions, and can kill you at either spot, but more importantly will produce on most Sundays, regardless who or how many try to stop them (like 89 used to do, or OBJ does now).

Don't get me wrong, I think KB is a legit playmaker and a threat, but he needs that supporting cast to thrive.

At least the discussion is whether he's a WR1 or not. It wasn't long ago that there was garbage about releasing/trading him. Ugh.

The Huddle's lunatic fringe is alive and well.

Perhaps that's a bit harsh, but you'd think that as much time some people spend on here, that they'd be a little more knowledgeable about the team and football in general.

If someone wants to go ahead and give me a list of all those number 2 WR's remaining be my guest.

And if your answer is Funchess don't even bother.

We need a legit 2 and missed the boat, again. To draft a WR at 8 would be drafting for need over value

Haven't you caught on yet people here like to pick and choose. They have no problem with us signing multiple DE but when it comes to receivers "oh well maybe Garrett and Byrd will develop". Funny how they don't have the same patients with Larry Webster and Delaire.

Apparently wanting Torrey Smith or Wright is breaking the bank impossible signing yet both won't get over 5 million a season.

Forgive us for seeing cap room and hearing false reports all along about being more aggressive etc.

We have been a huge disappointment so far. Have more holes now than we did before free agency started.

i mean Bersin is currently our PR.

Forgive. But your an idiot for over reacting within the first 24 hours of free agency.

Still doing pretty solid in free agency, assuming we traded away the compensatory 3rd in the Ealy deal. Remmers leaving means we still have an OT depth need, at minimum. I really like the additions of Peppers and Adams. Two guys who can still play at a decent level for a year or two while we try and get some young guys ready or on board.

I would argue that considering Oher's status and the possibility of Remmers not being on the team, we need another O-lineman. Fluker might work considering that he could play either guard or tackle (in theory). I'm still not sold on Williams. For all the flack Remmers gets, his PFF grade was higher than Williams'.

The question is whether Fluker or someone else we can afford is better than the 7 tackles we already have on the roster minus Oher who is a big unknown. I though Williams was improving before the injury. Usually year 2 and 3 the light comes on for O linemen but injuries can delay that
