Man, if only the Panthers overpaid for all the FAs!  But they can't waste money!  Oh, they need all the named FAs...But cheaply!

That seems to be the attitude of most of the Huddle.  Glad it's back!

As far as Shepard, he looks interesting.  Strong ST player and has some WR skills.  High character leader to boot? I'll take it!

Some of y'all are assuming we go after dudes to replace others.  He's not Ginn fast.  That will come somewhere else.  He's here to improve the team.

If you're looking to stretch the field: Dede Westbrook is expected to fall as far as the 6th round due to off-field concerns. Ran a 4 34 but expected more. Just a complete waste of a roster spot. 

DG has signed Teddy Williams (in the past) and Colin Jones this year and now this guy because he values special teams yet trots Graham Gano out there? 

There were a lot of proven solid vets and playmakers at WR on the market yesterday. Yet here's DG hoping that maybe in 2-3 years (when the majority of contracts the big guys signed expire and most likely Shepard's) Shepard becomes something. Not to mention this leaves Cam again throwing to a unproven WR.

So at this point best case scenario is DG drafting for need AGAIN and we walk away Thursday night with either Davis or Ross. Cam will then have 2 unknowns in Davis or Ross and Shepard. 

People argued with me for 3 years about Philly, it took this staff 3 years to realize he isn't a NFL WR. It appears we'll be doing the same thing with Funchess. You won't find a single Michigan fan that's surprised that the majority of you are thinking Funchess can still put it together because he has the tools, it's been the story of his life (as football goes). 

Its become clear as long as this management team is in charge Cam will never be getting the type of WR's so many us wish he would. It's such a shame to see Gettleman always thinking 4 years down the road instead of the now, we're passing away a window that is never guaranteed to open again.

It's definitely worrying looking at the wide receiving options for the Panthers.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         Benjamin- Took a ton of criticism for effort, route running last season. Albeit playing injured.                       Funchess- Too many drops, separation problems. No chemistry with Cam.                                                   Bersin- Ermm                                                                                                                                                           Brown- solid but unspectacular.FA                                                                                                                         Byrd- Quick but obviously RR has no faith.                                                                                                         and Shepard a back-up special team player.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            Someone said it yesterday. You might be hard pressed to find a weaker group.
