Saints signed Ginn and Klein on the first day of FA

Just think about it for a second. Contract details haven't come out yet, but this very first wave of  free agency is where bigger money is spent on the top players. The Aints actually signed both of these guys during this first wave. I honestly can't believe it.

Ginn is what he is, a speedster who can't catch the ball or do much else. Was damn solid with Cam as a deep threat but hasn't shown anything at all elsewhere outside of PR where he has declined over the years. Possible Brees can make him look good like in Carolina? Yeah for sure. But more likely he looks like his old Cardinals self. Wish he stayed because he fit here in his role, but not a huge loss and more importantly not a huge gain for the Aints at the likely cost they paid as a first wave FA.

And Klein was great here. Great depth LB and backup to Luke who played outstandingly in early '15 to help us get the 1 seed over the Cards with some of those early close wins without Luke. That being said, do you really want him as your starter? His coverage this year was among the worst by anyone in football, and he missed a lot of tackles (11.4% of them). By the end of the year he was third string Mike behind Mayo. If the Aints paid him starter money and expect to rely on him there, then they may be in for a surprise. Loved having him here but now he's the enemy. Is it all that surprising that McD didn't go after him?

Of course contract details are important here but I anticipate they'll be pretty big. Folks here should stop the panick regarding these two. Because it looks like some more stupid deals by the Aints who seem to make them every single year in FA.
