Trading away a 2nd rd pick to get rid of Brock and thinking getting Romo will take them to the Super Bowl

Brock was a bust, he had to be gotten rid of. If they go all in thinking Romo will take them there, I agree. But just by getting Romo now and not doing things to jeopardize their future I don't think that'd be a big gamble. He could get injured but if that happens they're no worse off than they are now anyways. We'll see what happens, they may trade future assets for Romo and try to sign other players and go all in but I kind of doubt it with them letting Bouye go.

That goes to another point. They let Bouye go! If they're trying to get to the Super Bowl then he should have been a priority as well.

Am I misunderstanding this or did Cleveland basically pay 16m for a 2nd next year?

Serious question. I'm on the road and missed most of it

Basically, that and they needed to hit the cap floor and this helps accomplish that.

Very good trade for the Browns, they can then flip the extra 2nd and use it in a trade package for Garopplo. They then cut Osweiler, which allows them to use both first round picks on skill positions instead of a QB from a very weak class.
