the fact that he was a stud early, and that he's still young, is actually huge. this could mean there's a number of variable factors that've led to his decline, variables that might be much different here. we already know from experience that playing next to dogshit can make everybody look bad. byron bell made trai turner and norwell look awful at times. that line was mediocre at best in 2015 and utter dogshit last year. was he possibly a product of subpar play?

it appears gettleman overpaid him, and he's definitely staking his reputation on this move. but i am optimistic. everyone was guffawing bitterly over the oher acquisition a few years ago and matsko worked wonders with him - there's a good chance he can do the same with kalil. hopefully this is just the first move in a series of investments in the offensive line.

Here's what I got. Kalil it seems played hurt a lot, in which he developed bad techniques. That's the downside to being a "warrior" and playing though pain and injuries. Matt spent most of 2016 getting healthy(I heard he got down to 260 after surgery). The going rate for any "top" level LT form this free agency is 3yr 30mill, disregard the 5yr 55mill fluff. Going back 5yrs, Kalil had the rare trait of LT feet, high athleticism, and able to pull(big part of panther OL required wise) for sweeps and screens etc. No idea if he's still able to display those skills now.

Basically Dave put half a container of Skoal in his mouth, got in his 78 sliver cadillac. Drove to the nearest casino, opened the fornt doors with his ball sac. Duck walked over to the roulette table and put 30 million on 75.

bad hip since college-- finally got it fixed and feels good.

knows he hasn't progressed the way he expected to and wants help-- this guy is gonna work if we have the people to put him to it (and we do).

if this guy comes back to form here we have a stud LT for the rest of Cam's career pretty much.

Something to hlep ease my mind a bit is when doing some digging it seems that the Vikings don't have the best OL coaches and don't have a good reputation for developing OL.

We know we have good OL developing coaches here so here's to hoping for a healthy year from em.
