Marvel's Iron Fist getting bad reviews

Finally finished it.

Bad story

Bad writing.

Bad bad guys. btw who were the bad guys?

Bad acting. Recasting Danny would be top priority if it were my money....

Bad fighting, slow...wouldn't be surprised if they moved in slow motion and sped it up.

A total rush job and it showed.

Watching it now, on ep: 12....not great like DD, but watchable enough.

I just keep feeling like I have heard/seen the story before....maybe even a few times.  Struggled with Cage, but enjoyed JJ, and DD a lot.  Guess I will just keep plowing through.

I also haven't finished it yet and that's mainly because the guy playing Danny sucks. If they had gotten a better actor I think this show would have been so much better. As it stands now I have two episodes left to watch and no desire to do so, and I am one of those people who finishes everything once I start it.

If Sonny was a bit younger, he would have been a great Iron Fist.   Maybe still could have played him honestly....

That show is so bad ass. I wish they would have grabbed an unknown Chinese actor for Rand. Oh well, Carrie Ann Moss is still decent to look at

That was a shitty throw in at the end.  It was mediocre but I think what annoyed me most was all of the Meachums, and I like David Wenham.

Agreed, it just made no sense at all.

She finally broke free from her father when she figure out he set Danny up....she had a very soft spot in her heart for him from the beginning.

Maybe it's to make us tune in if they get a 2nd season?  Who the hell knows.

If they are villains in season 2, that doesn't make me want to watch haha.

Yeah, the guy playing Danny was not good.  In shows like this, the secondary characters play off the lead, but if your lead is weak, it isn't going to work.  And that's what happened here.

This guy doesn't have the chops to express multiple layers of himself like JJ and Daredevil.  He came across as very soft and immature, not self possessed and in control of himself like you would expect from someone that had been doing nothing but training for 15 years.  You never got a sense of underlying darkness and internal struggle like you get with JJ, LC, and DD.  He just comes across as a whiney child.  A good actor could play that role as being a bit naive, yet still strong and with an underlying menace.

I agree that the Meachum's were bad villains, although I do think they did a good job with Ward's story arc.  And Madame Gao was great.  As usual, Claire was also great, and I thought Coleen was a strong character who fits well in this universe.

Basically, the elements for a solid show were there, but the lead brought the whole thing down with his inability to act his way out of a paper bag.

Yeah, he was the best part of the show. I was sad when he died, and happy when he didn't.

He's kinda whiney but I think that's deliberate. It's not terrible. Not the quality of the rest but overall meh...didn't hate it.

yeah, i suspect he's being directed to behave like a 12yo. doesn't make sense, though, for someone who's spent 15 years practicing buddhism.

they painted themselves into a corner trying to have a character who has a lot of pent up anger over his parents' death, but was in an environment that should have taught him to process and release that anger. i put it more on the writers than the actor. we'll see how much he grows after they band together....and where's the green tights and yellow scarf? wtf?
