I wouldn't mind trading up to #5 to secure a blue chipper if it only costs one of our 3rds. Definitely not #40. I actually wouldn't mind trading up to #5 and then trading back into the backend of the 1st with #40 and remaining 3rd for a prospect falling to pick up a 5th year option.

I could see Gettleman trading up for Fournette as long as the price isnt to high. This offense lives and dies by the power run game. And Ron has been vocal about wanting Cam to carry it less. Gettleman is trying to build this team like those Giants teams in every way. (Defense loading up DL, Big WRs etc) Getting a Brandon Jacobs for our offense to split with Stewart onky has him licking his chops.
Theres a reason a buzz was going around tbe combine of "what if Carolina gets Fournette" some teams like the saints sounding nervous and their fanbase creating their bomb shelter now.

i wouldn't be too mad, though i hate the idea of losing a 3rd. i'm envisioning a presser after round 1 where gettleman is saying something like, "if you do it right, you're rarely ever drafting at the very top. so when you're knocking on the door, you want to make sure you walk away with a true franchise stud, so that's why we moved up to 6/7."

i'd hate to blow our opportunity for a transcendent talent off a wack season. if we stay at 8 and are staring at solomon thomas only, i'm honestly feeling pretty disappointed about our draft.

i can also just see some dipshit team coming up and drafting fournette right before us just to cock block us. someone's gonna try and be a hero and keep us from true glory. saints are definitely team #1 for pulling a stunt like that.

i want adams or fournette and we should do what we gotta do to make it happen.

Absolutely. If the board starts clearing out of blue chip players, you go get your guy. You don't pick this high with the team we supposedly have very often. 

having some worthless middle rounder doesn't cover the value between blue chip and "they do some nice things."

Now, obviously, this is not a for sure thing that is going to happen, it is just rumblings. I would be lying to you if I said "Oh yeah 100% moving up etc". It is rumbling within the general nfl community, not anything solid from the Panthers front office. I hold my reservations on the whole thing as I just do not see DG ever moving up, especially for a RB.

And as far as a note for this draft, Adams is either #1 or #2 on most NFL teams draft boards, and I think he is a lock for the top four picks, either by WAS (trade Cousins for 2), SF, or JAX.

We pick 8th. Not 30th. There will be a blue chip player there

I would give up a third (preferably the compensatory to move to 5 and get whoever is still there between Adams & Hooker. This would be in line with what Jacksonville gave Tampa several years ago to move from 7 to 5 (gave a fourth) when they took Justin Blackmon.
