Market value for CJ was 5.9 million...so this is a good signing by Gman.

Just looked up his QB hurries last season, CJ had 19 in 13 games. More than Clowney, Dee Ford, Short, and Gerald McCoy. He may have have gotten the sacks, but he was disruptive nonetheless.

The team actually didn't tender either player. Bersin went ahead and re-signed for less money. Philly (apparently) has a deal with someone else.

Bersin's deal isn't big enough to prevent us from signing or re-signing anyone else, and he's far from a lock to make the roster.

They didn't really choose either one.

Maybe so but still seems that letting both go would have been the better option. They have choices in FA and the draft at WR. We need more speed there.

Surely there is more to playing DE in the NFL than your sack total. 

Is he good against the run?  Does he set the edge?  Does he get consistent pressure?  Does he cause the QB to hurry his throws?  Does he often demand additional attention from the TE, RB, or Guard?  Does he always know his assignment?  Does he know everyone else's assignment and help them get lined up?  Is he a good teammate?  Is he a good leader? Does he share his knowledge and experience with younger players in his position group?

We had one of the worst pass rush in NFL last year.  We bringing both starters back.
