Schedule Importance

Shocker

Recommended Posts

I think the schedule a team plays means just as much as the team.  Sure, the bad teams will be bad but we should seriously contend next year.  Atlanta will have a harder schedule and the Super Bowl hangover is real.  Travel is a big part of success.  It is SO important we start strong next year.  Any thoughts on these things?  I'm really looking forward to a restart on offense and defense (healthy) with this amazing Panthers team.

I would add that it appears Gettleman appears to value the vinegar of youth.  The younger the more to prove, so I love that.

How about just being a damn good team? Instead of worrying about a schedule.

The schedule is afriad of New England.

Well honestly, New England does benefit from a division who decided to not contend for an era, so that's also a reason the Patriots have been consistently in the playoffs so often.

The AFC is down...I mean really, the Falcons should have won the Super Bowl going away...Panthers too for that matter.

Looking at history, we never played good against Buffalo and Miami.

And people say our division is weak AF too.

And honestly....how can we argue against that historically? NO and Tampa are two of the worst franchises in the history of the NFL and ATL isn't anything special. If NE was in our division they'd have as many rings as they do now.

We have nothing to fugin say if we can't dominate NO and Tampa with the occasional ATL team worth a flip. The truth is our team sucks ass historically too. These kids can't honestly believe that if we were in their division we'd have rings.....because we wouldn't.

Belichick is the best coach in NFL history cheating and all...and he certainly wouldn't suffer fugin Shula ball....

New England has been the most dominate team in the NFL for the last 16 years, that is not up for debate by anyone.....   but outside of the Peyton Manning era Colts I can't think of a team that's had a easier road to the playoffs year in and year out over that same period of time.

It's easy for the schedule to be afraid of you when you have 6 gimmie wins every year because your division is crap.

That's not true.

There were a time when Peyton had to play against a Steve McNair and Eddie George led Titans teams.

Jaguars used to be pretty darn good.

Houston was the only team that sucked.

The weakest divison in the NFL for years was the NFCWest

Early in his career yes with the Titans, but are you kidding me with the Jags? they have had only 3 winning seasons since Payton was drafted to date, thats 19 years and counting at the moment and only 3 winning seasons since.

Jags had Leftwich, Garrard, Fred Taylor, Jon Henderson, Marcus Stroud, Keenan McCardell, Jimmy Smith, and MJD for years. They were never great but always competitive. Manning had to earn those wins.

It's the way it goes but it is funny to me.

People say the Panthers suck and our division sucks then our fans fight back and say "nuh uh"

Then we turn around and say that Manning's division sucked or Brady had an easy road. It's crazy I know but...it's just possible that they were that good. Meanwhile we had to contend with Juggernauts like the paper bag crew and the cream sickles.
