WITH THE 39TH SELECTION, IN THE 2017 NFL DRAFT THE NEW YORK JETS SELECT: ANTONIO GARICA, OT TROY

antonio-garciajpg-6710bea8a4509974.jpg

The Jets are clearly already committed to building around their new QB Pat Mahomes.  The Jets offensive line was anemic last year, and an injection of youth is badly needed.  Garcia has a lot of traits that have scouts drooling, and he could potentially play multiple positions on the offensive line.  He needs to hit the weight room some more, but the potential is there and the Jets will probably be asking him to play early and often next year, for better or for worse.

Pick 40: The Carolina Panthers Select.........Zay Jones WR, ECU

Watching replays of the sacks Cam Newton took last season could show you a major problem with the Carolina Panthers on offense, which was a lack of OPEN receivers to target. Many of the sacks that Cam Newton took were coverage sacks. People complained about why he held on to the ball so long, but a lot of the time it is because he had nobody to throw it to. Opponents knew he was going to target Kelvin Benjamin, and did their best to stop him. Devin Funchess seemed to struggle to get separation, and in all honesty does not seem like a good compliment to Benjamin.

Selecting Zay Jones here would give the Panthers a true number two receiver who can line up on the outside as well as the slot. Jones displayed good speed at the NFL Combine with a 4.45 40 time, and dominated at the Senior Bowl. Also, it is obvious from watching videos of his highlights that he has incredible hands, and that he is able to go up to get the ball. Jones would be a great fit, and could help the offense move the ball more. He will also have Jerricho Cotchery as a coach which could benefit him tremendously.

You bastard.  Although I would LOVE that pick in real life, I was hoping for the purposes of this mock draft that I could get him to Cleveland.

I honestly believe he would be a good fit in Carolina. Good character, hard working WR. Has a ton of talent and can help keep the pressure off of Kelvin Benjamin.lol

With the 30th pick in the 2017 NFL draft the Pittsburgh Steelers select

evan-engram-ole-miss.jpg

Evan Engram, TE Ole Miss

Evan allows the Steelers to run more 2 TW sets, and forces all types of nightmare match ups for opposing defenses. He showcases plus athleticism on top of being movable all across the formation from a H-back role to a Inline TE, or where he flourishes in the slot. Good Luck doubling AB, with Martavis returning, and Engram on the field.

wow you think engram could go this early? Ik he killed his combine, but damn
