Both Amendola and Edelman are on the wrong side of 30. Cooks fits the mold of what they bring plus some. It's not hard to make the connection.

Yep. They would likely groom him to eventually take Edelman's spot, and until then he and Edelman would likely tear the league a new one as the sun settles on the GOAT's career.

The Saints are balking at the 32nd pick though, so doesn't look like we'll see Cooks cooking in New England.

Groom him? He'd have to have Edelman's spot the day the trade happened. Don't forget he's whining about not getting enough targets on the #2 team in pass attempts.

I believe you can sign those not under contract last year, aka camp bodies.

Random trade thought! Since this one seems to fit with the Cook idea. Trade our compensation pick to the Lions for a retired Megatron!!! It's all I got!!!! Both would cause an uproar on this board if either happened!

I expect Cooks to line up on the outside markedly more than Edelman due to his speed. I don't see him supplanting Edelman anytime soon. He will have to conform, just like everyone else that goes there.

Exactly. He is doing what he's allowed to do. And nobody cares about those players. Anyone else? One would think that with all the comments, there would be plenty of answers. Guess it's just some people hitting default mode.
