So, for those of you with dreams of having a huge Butt on the Panthers, well you're not the only one having those wet dreams

There's a Butt out there that has insinuated towards the desire of 'butting' in with the Panthers recently. His primary reason appears to be his positive connection to Olsen. In fact, he is a pretty huge fan.

Michigan tight end Jake Butt is extremely pro-Olsen, and has been trying to build a relationship with the veteran tight end as he readies for the next level of play.

“I spent some time talking (to Greg) on the phone,” he said Friday during his podium session at the NFL scouting combine. “We share a financial adviser together. Obviously he’s a great player on the field, we all know that. We’ve seen it.

“For him to reach out to me, to spend time talking to me, taking time out of his busy schedule and preparing me for this process, that just speaks to the kind of guy he is. I hope to be the same player he is some day. ... But even more so, the same man.”

Butt added he hopes Olsen puts in a good word for him with Carolina.

Butt's comments are certainly something to not put in the rear end of things, as the draft season is hurling about soon.

The one concern for him flopping like poo in the NFL lies in his recent ACL fiasco. However, it appears it won't be an issue, as he should be fine by June.

Butt had surgery on his knee on Jan. 10 – it is his second ACL repair, but on the opposite knee – and hopes to be fully cleared by June. He will ease back into football drills before that. He says the rehab process is going well, but his NFL combine experience is more about the interviews with teams and scouts.

So, Butt appears to be someone at play, maybe a guy we can snag near the bottom. However, he shows his spirit as one not to be known just for being a bottom, but rather, one to rise the top.

“My love for the game,” he said. “I’m so passionate about this game, so passionate about winning and trying to get my name out there and help an organization reach the Super Bowl, and win one.”

    • As I said less than 10 minutes into the game, Boston looks nothing like we're used to seeing. Regardless, any curb-stomping of the Bruins is welcome.  The scorers all got the glory tonight, but all 6 D-men had excellent games. Across the board- Gost, Orlov, Chatty, Walker and, of course, Slavin & Burns.
    • I just tried a few mock draft simulators and this is the only way lol. Nothing else makes sense.
    • No, biggest weakness is pass rush, but I don't think there is a blue chip can't miss DE prospect to take at #1 this year, same as with QB.  But beyond that, moving forward, yea WR is a pretty damn big weakness. We have 1 game this season over 224 yards passing and just traded away our best WR (who wasn't going to re-sign here anyways).  That WR no longer on the team was also the only player we've had this year who had over 78 yards receiving in a game.  So again, yea, WR is one of our biggest weaknesses even right now, let alone moving into the future. As I just said in my other post, I love Legette, but he's not going to be a Top 5-10 WR type of guy, Top 15-20 I can see, I think he can be a good #1 WR or an elite #2. After that, what do we have for the future?  Thielen isn't part of it, sure as hell isn't going to be Mingo, and as much as we all like Coker, in no world is Coker as our #2 to Legette as the #1 going be considered as "having weapons" at WR, even with Brooks and Sanders. But put someone like T-Mac into that group, who I genuinely think is going to be a Top 5 WR in this league for a long time, and it changes things.  A Top 5 WR with Legette/Coker as the 2/3, along with Brooks and Sanders, has the potential to be one of the best set of offensive weapons in the league if they reach their potential.
