Cell phone as a mobile hotspot?

I've done it in a pinch. It can be helpful.

There's little I need to do online that I can't do with my phone anyway, so it's nothing I do regularly.

As far as how well it works... Well, it works. It's going to depend on your plan and signal tbh.

I do it mostly for work with my work phone(which is Verizon) as a hot spot when I can't connect to wifi.  Works fairly well even if you need to watch video presentations and the like.  It works everywhere a cell phone does.  Even did it in China and Europe.  No problems but I would beware of costs.  I was doing mine for work on a work phone and did not have to pay the bill so Idk how much it costs.  Caveat my friend.

I've got Sprint, which is actually good at my house.  I rooted my phone and unlocked the native hotspot.  I've been using this hotspot for years now.  If you have 4G coverage which most people have then it's really not that bad at all.  I stream Netflix, Amazon, and play games online.  The only downside as far as gaming is that you're going to have a strict NAT so it may cause problems when trying to group up with people.
