REPORT: Remmers not expected to be re-signed

This is also a 2 way street, as he does have starting experience and will likely want  more money than he got as an undrafted rookie. So let him walk and get overpaid by someone else who may feel their offensive blocking scheme would suit him better than ours does.

Agree. I'm willing to bet there is at least one, of the other 31 messagage boards discussing how they can get Remmers to replace their starting RT.

As most state on here, I would love to have him as a backup but I predict he's going to be offered more than we are willing to pay for a backup.

Don't be so quick to hate. Remmers is a valuable olineman in that he can play both tackles and center in a pinch. I'd try to resign him and let him compete at RT. If he gets starter money somewhere else then so be it. He doesn't need to be our starting LT though, that's for damn sure.

Taking it with a grain of salt, as Voth pretty much alluded to Dorsey and/or Shula getting axed and we saw how that played out.

agree but I'm thinking that there was an ultimatum laid down. Would not be surprised at all if we have a repeat of last year we could clean house with the coaching staff

I was hoping we could re-sign Remmers to a very friendly deal. But if the guy gets more money elsewhere good for him. He's not a bad RT, he had a bad game against the most dominant defensive end in the NFL.

Would love to have him as utility depth.

I thought bill was ending the BBR coverage?? Since he stated that, he keeps operating. Not complaining, just odd.

That said, I've heard the opposite. Panthers want remmers back, but they will not overpay. I bet his agent is looking at $$$$$$ and not the opportunity panthers have him.

My guess is that the Panthers do want him back, but at the right price.  However, Bill has probably heard something like Remmers is looking for starter money, but the Panthers are only offering backup money, leading Bill to expect the Panthers to let him walk.

Again, this is only my speculation, but it does fit with what Bill said, but also doesn't close the door on Remmers returning if he doesn't find the market as lucrative as he expects.
