I think that's mere speculation by Voth. I would give credence to it if we got rid of our RBs, TE, or OL coach but decided to keep Shula and Dorsey in place because they are Cam's "yes" men. I would say that Ron likes to keep continuity with his staff. You see that with Cotchery and Lane Taylor hire and with Wilkes to DC. I don't mind this approach but we can't bring in the same players and expect improvement.

Voth doesn't typically do the speculating thing so I'm thinking there's so truth to this one.

The bolded part I couldn't agree more with. Which is a legit concern as well after resigning Mario, Horton and openly saying they want to bring CJ back as well

This. From recent comments by Gettleman it seems pretty clear to me that he would've like to have seen some changes in the offensive staff. I don't believe such changes should ever be forced on a head coach so I respect Gettleman for letting Rivera make his own choices there, but I do think Ron has put himself in a do or die situation here. And like you, I'm fine with that.

If he doesn't believe he has the right coaching staff in place and trots them out there for another losing season, then he should be fired too. You don't have to give someone rope to hang themsleves, if you deem they should be hanged then string their ass up.

I am on the fence right now but I will be very concerned if we bring back the following players or have them play key roles : Ed Dickson, Mike Remmers, Oher, Bersin, Philly Brown, Michael Griffin, Teddy Williams, and Leonard Johnson. We already got rid of two players that I would have added to this list- Tolbert and Solali

My list would look the exact same

Our Front Office is too nice.  Writing was on the wall for Shula to be gone after last season.  RR continues to defend this hack of an OC.  You can only run so many off guard runs and 15 yard route combos before it blows up in your face.  I was sitting in the stands watching Shula's  hack offense line up and was calling out what we were about to run. Can only imagine what Professional DC's are saying in the box... "LOL this joke is calling yet another draw on 3rd and 8"

Not gonna defend Shula, but if Cam didn't think something would work, he could always call an audible.

If this team slacks off in free agency, drafts more D-Line players high in the draft, and ignores holes at S, RB, OT, and WR we will not improve as a team. Even if our roster gets better our offense will struggle thanks to poor playcalling and lack of imagination. RR had a chance to get a legit player caller and passed. That could cost him his job. We should of fired Shula. We did not but that will be something that we just have to deal with. Hopefully Shula can prove us all wrong but I have my doubts as do others.

Sure Ron is keeping them because of the continuity, but that doesn't mean they're not yes men. It's more than speculation. Voth gets the behind the scenes look at what's going on. I doubt that anyone that covers the team has the balls to write that the organization babys Cam, but if it's happening they know about it.

I think Leonard Johnson played well early on when he was first brought in but started to fade at the end of the year. He was very bad against the Falcons. I rather bring back Captain or draft another DB. I don't want them to cut him but he should not be in the top 3 rotation

Zod reported seeing Newton straight up ignore Dorsey trying to tell him something at Fan Fest in order to play to the crowd.

This is the issue I've always had with "player's coaches." It's like parents who think they can be their child's"friend" trying to suddenly reassert the authority they've abdicated.

So far this offseason tastes a whole lot like last one.

FA hasn't even started yet. I'll start complaining late March if we don't sign anyone.

Right now we can only sign guys who have been released and guys we have first dibs on because their contracts expired with us - not the biggest pool of talent to pull from.
