Ron presser today

Captain Morgan

Our Front Office is too nice.  Writing was on the wall for Shula to be gone after last season.  RR continues to defend this hack of an OC.  You can only run so many off guard runs and 15 yard route combos before it blows up in your face.  I was sitting in the stands watching Shula's  hack offense line up and was calling out what we were about to run. Can only imagine what Professional DC's are saying in the box... "LOL this joke is calling yet another draw on 3rd and 8"

DG is giving Ron enough rope to hang himself with. He stuck his neck out for Shula and Dorsey ..if this season isn't a success they will all be gone ..and that's fine with me .

This. From recent comments by Gettleman it seems pretty clear to me that he would've like to have seen some changes in the offensive staff. I don't believe such changes should ever be forced on a head coach so I respect Gettleman for letting Rivera make his own choices there, but I do think Ron has put himself in a do or die situation here. And like you, I'm fine with that.

Hm. While I'm pleased to hear we are looking to improve the tackle position, I 100% believe that Remmers is top quality depth and should be brought back in a backup role.

Agreed. BUT, at the same time, Rivera's biggest weakness is his loyalty and focus on continuity. If Remmers is back, Ron will almost certainly start him and I think Dave knows this.

Voth replied with "legit concern" to someone who tweeted him that Shula and Dorsey are Cam's "yes men". Everything's all fine and dandy when you're winning (2015) but when your unit takes a major step back (2016), it's very difficult to all of sudden become coaches again instead of "yes men".

It was very important to make changes this offseason and this organization blew it. We are simply just wasting another year of our window and for what? To make sure of something we already know?

Judging from both coach and gm interviews, I think Rivera and his staff know that if they don't make the playoffs this season they will be shown the door. They will probably target a DE in the first 3 rounds and address offensive line in FA and wait to day 2 and 3 to draft an offensive lineman.

Man that really sucks to hear. Like it's known, but just to read it hurts my eyes.

I think that's mere speculation by Voth. I would give credence to it if we got rid of our RBs, TE, or OL coach but decided to keep Shula and Dorsey in place because they are Cam's "yes" men. I would say that Ron likes to keep continuity with his staff. You see that with Cotchery and Lane Taylor hire and with Wilkes to DC. I don't mind this approach but we can't bring in the same players and expect improvement.
