Check out fanspeak.com "Manage the Cap" and "On The Clock Simulator". Great ways to kill time at work while waiting for free agency / combine news

What do you all think of this one? A little east coast bias... I think all of my first three picks will be 1st rounders after the combine  wraps up. As a Hokie alum, I would do backflips for Sam Rogers... Dude is as close to a Hoover clone as I've ever seen

Post your own!

There's a long thread about this in the draft board but whatever, its the offseason . I've already done like 200 of these things but let me do another one just to celebrate the combine being underway (and also I think the website updates every tuesdsay or wednesday I suppose the combine and free agency will massively change the mocks in the next couple weeks).

We haven't drafted a RB in a high round since Stewart in 2008 (at pick 13) who was actually the second RB taken off the board (McFadden went tot he Raiders at #4) . 9 years later we are picking at a very similar position in the draft. Altough if something simular plays out this year It could be the Jags (who have pick 4 this year) getting Fournette and us getting Cook, or vice/versa wouldn't be surprised. I could see the Jags believing Cook is the better RB based off being faster and more elusive /explosive than LF7. Which would result in us getting the #2 back in the draft who seemingly is more of a power back rather than the better overall player which is an interesting parallel to that year.

Also  2008 was STACKED at RB : Darren McFadden, Jonathan Stewart, Jamal Charles , Chris Johnson (!!) , Matt Forte, Ray Rice, and Payton Hillis. Jesus christ. I dont think this year will produce that much RB talent but its similar in the sense that its a deep RB class .

Here's the one i did today . Not really realistic , these are just my personal preferences :

1. Fournette (RB) 2. John Ross (WR)  3.a. Jordan Legett (TE)  3.b. Tanoh Kpassagnon (EDGE)  4. Ethan Pocic (C) 5. Ryan Switzer (WR)  6. Elijah Hood (RB) 7. Darius English (EDGE)

And a defense minded one I suppose to be more realistic since Panthers management loves to draft defense in high rounds (except KB + Funchess obviously)   . A boring ass, BPA, Gettleman type draft with defense higher rounds and some late round offense scrubs that he might get lucky on :

1. Jonathan Allen (DT/DE) 2. Budda Baker (S) 3.a. Justin Evans (S) 3.b. Demarcus Walker (DE) 4. Ethan Pocic (C) 5. Chad Wheeler (OT) 6. KD Cannon (WR) 7. Jalen Hurd (RB)

Having Allen and Short on the same team would be sick. They'd take up so much attention in the middle we won't have to have world beating defensive ends and just mainly stick with the ones we have while adding Walker.

    • This is factually incorrect. He was a two time Pro Bowler with the Rams and in fact statistically he was better with the Rams in his best season there than he has been with the Lions(could change with this season). Some of his per game stats have creeped into being marginally better with the Lions but there have not been dramatic differences in his play, actually. The biggest reason that McVay and he ended up splitting was McVay didn't think he could win a title with Goff. TBH.....so far he was 100% correct. Stafford almost immediately won them a SB and Goff in a historic run was about 70% of the reason the Lions faltered in the NFC championship game. He missed critical throws all over the first half and throughout the second half that he normally wouldn't. He choked. So, until Goff actually does win a SB...McVay has been right.
    • they have the best defense they've had in a long time...probably the best in the reid/mahommes era.  but i think they are probably the most beatable they've been in a while as well. record doesn't exactly bear that out, but they just don't look as strong on offense as they usually do. lots of reasons for that, like trying to build chemistry with newer receivers, but right now they just aren't as frightening as they typically are. i mean they'll probably win tomorrow, but i don't see them as the strongest team in the AFC right now.
    • He will likely remain unsigned the remainder of this season(barring someone being in a pure QB panic AND making poor decisions) largely due to the cost. I do think he will get multiple offers to be a backup QB and perhaps a couple to potentially start this offseason.  I will continue to beat the same horse over and over.....he should go to a successful team with an established starter. If I were him, go to somewhere like SF, LAR, etc. Somewhere with a successful QB coach and brilliant offensive mind and ALSO a set situation at QB. Ride the pine and adjust for a year or two. Chill and be around better culture. I would suggest the same for Bryce but he will be limited to wherever we can trade him.
