I don't think we can lump Beachum in the tons of injuries group. He tore his ACL in 2015, that's it. He wasn't a starter his rookie year until the end of the year, so only started 5 games. After the rookie year, he's played in 15, 16, 6 and 15 games. The 6 was when he tore his ACL in 2015 and missed the rest of the year.

Anyway, he's had one big injury, but he still played/started 15 games last year. Also, unlike the others, his only "bad" ranked year was post ACL (again, we saw KB have issues in the middle of the year coming back maybe too soon, Proehl said as much). He was top 5/10 in PFF tackle rankings in 2014/2015 and is only 27, so if healthy should be able to get back to that level.

Since Whitworth is off the table, Beachum would be my next choice. I watched him with the Steelers(other team) and if he's healthy, he's the best option left. Only way I want Kalil is if he's a swing tackle or competes for RT.

Ok, I'll dig going after Beachum then. Any idea what his market is? Assuming he's the top guy available, I'll be interested to see how long we last in the running for him.

Sure why not, he's a former 1st rounder. Something has changed since his rookie season that has made him go to poo! Not sure what it is but maybe Ray Brown and a little one on one tutoring from John Matsko could get him on track. Maybe a 2 year deal at around 2-3 million would work.

Free agent LT Matt Kalil (hip) is "100 percent healthy."

Kalil dealt with conditioning issues following hip surgery, but is back to his playing weight of 315 pounds. He expects to be full-go for OTAs. Kalil's agent is meeting with the Vikings this weekend. He's a strong candidate to return on a prove-it deal.

This is good news.  If he resigns with them it would force us to get out of our comfort zone and make a real move for reliable quality.  It would also take a desperate team with less draft and cap capital but far greater sense of desperation out of the OT market in the Vikings.
