You’ve got access to the entire league, and this is a steal league. You steal from me, I’m stealing from you. So they’re very capable of making adjustments.

I found this quote interesting from DG. Shula and Ron seem like the types who fail to realize you can steal ideas, play formations and etc from other teams... Its always lets do it our way until it works.

Congratulations on your new deal.

I rather him just say he wants to coach with his buddies.

If Rivera truly belivies in Shula and Dorsey as coaches then he needs to get his brain examined.

Ron's loyalty is his biggest weakness and it's going to be the reason why he'll be out of a job next season.

I don't buy what you're selling. Sorry.

Panthers general manager Dave Gettleman said the biggest thing the staff is looking for at the combine is character "because character does win football games." All a part of creating the locker room culture he talks about so much. Might make a player such as Christian McCaffrey rise on his draft board.

Panthers general manager Dave Gettleman said newly re-signed defensive end Mario Addison has improved his footwork to make him a more complete end and not just a pass rusher. "He's going to play more. Plain and simple," Gettleman said of Carolina's 2016 sack leader (9.5).

Didn't see this in any of the beat reporters' tweets.  But at the very end of a short article at BBR about the situation with Oher and Dave's comment that they've got a plan, there was this intriguing comment:

"Free agency is to set up the draft and I want to put us back in that spot."

Hmmmm..  "put us back in that spot".... am I reading too much into it, or is that a slightly subtle acknowlegement that perhaps DG realizes he didn't do enough in FA last year to set up the draft?  Sounds a bit like that to me...

I took it to mean, 'we're not ready for the draft, we need to do some things in FA first',  I did not see this as an admission to any problems last year.  As I've said before, you don't overhaul a 17-2 team with the reigning MVP and all other key players plus KB coming back, Things turned south when Norman refused to sign the tag, resulting in lost opportunities for us in FA and a change in strategy in the draft.

Panthers general manager Dave Gettleman reaffirmed what wide receivers coach Lance Taylor told me, that he wants to re-sign Ted Ginn Jr. "We want Ted back,'' Gettleman said. "We want him back. It's just a matter of getting there. Contracts get done when they get done.'' Makes since since Ginn offers speed the other receivers don't have.

"We're in the unknown and we're going to move forward. We've got a plan and we'll just see where it goes. I can't give you anything more than that."

That plan, according to sources, includes interest in left tackle Matt Kalil, who's set to become a free agent on March 9.

Panthers general manager Dave Gettleman said after he left the podium that he wants to re-sign defensive end Charles Johnson. Not a surprise since coach Ron RIvera said Johnson was the most consistent defensive lineman last season.

I stand corrected, but this is the same guy who will apparently walk through the fire so to speak for Mike Shula so ill call it a wash.
