Salary Cap Set

Not sure why anybody thinks Dickson and Gano have to go. Dickson will remain a Panther until competition at TE makes him not needed anymore.

Gano had a fantastic season in 2015. To many are putting to much blame on him for the miss in Denver and him kicking while he was injured. Not like we had a better option.

$38 million right now.

My guesses for the unknowns for 2017:
Addison - 5.5 mil
Silatolu - 800K
Horton - 900K
Jacobs - 900K

So you can figure around 8.1 million. So that leaves us around $30 million in space.

I can't recall the exact number, but you can figure around $8-9 million for the rookie pool. That gives us an operating budget of around $21 million.

Guys I think we'll re-sign and how much they'll cost for 2017:
Remmers - 3 mil (uggh)
Ginn - 3 mil
Norwell - 1.5 mil
Love - 1 mil
Scott - 900k
Leonard Johnson - 900k
Fozzy - 900k
Bersin - 900k
Philly - 900k
Young - 800k

That's 13.8 Mil, leaving only 7.2 of space to go towards other FAs (I haven't included ERFAs in this, which includes players like Byrd for all you fanboys).

Potential cuts:
Dickson - 2.1 mil
Stewart - 4.75 mil

At this point, I am thinking Stewart stays, at least until we see where the chips fall in the draft. His days could be numbered if Fournette falls to 8. I still think Dickson is gone, tbqh, as we can fill his role for cheaper than 2.1 mil. I don't think Gano will get the axe, but he could.

So say Dickson gets the axe, we're just over $9 mil in cap space for new free agents. That's about 2-3 good roleplayers/starters. 5 middle of the road/projects/rotational guys, or about 8 warm bodies for camp.

We could also extend guys like Star or Turner, so that could increase or decrease cap space (Star would likely increase, Turner decrease.)

Dickson has to go, to me at least, because he's the 13th highest paid player on our team. Totally not worth it. We could draft a comparable skilled TE in the 3rd round of the draft this year for like 1/3 or less the cost.

Take that back. I'd probably put it around 28-29m left.

We are currently sitting at $39,545,149.00 under the adjusted Cap of $180m with our roll over from last year. this includes the KK, Addison and Horton Deals which already ate up $23m, if it weren't for before we started signing we started at about $62m under the cap this off-season. we still have a ton of money to spend without a lot of people of our own to sign, relative to our remaining cap space that is.

The 39m figure only counts the KK tag, it doesn't have the Addison, Horton deals counted yet.
