I worked in Burke County from 1997 to 2004.  Small world.

You were there during my time. I graduated high school in 2000. That was the last time that I lived in Burke County. Whole family is still there though.

Grew up just north of Morganton off Highway 181.

Shelby.  Actually I was in Shelby then too but worked in Morganton/Hildebran/Marion back in those days.  Three different manufacturing facilities under the same company umbrella.

Sounds like Drexel Heritage. My dad worked for them.

No, it was/is a company that supplied among other things, premium carrier bolts for AR15's and M16's.  They are doing quite well these days but I moved on to bigger and better things (actually I permanently reside in hell everyday from 8A to 5P).

Ah, Toolcraft. I worked at James Tool through high school. Grew up right by Emory Corporation. Until just recently worked in sales in the outdoor industry, one of my lines was CMMG ARs.

Small world indeed.

Well holy shlt!  Actually Ray Porter is my wife's Dad.  Sum bitch just got a contract with the Israeli Defense and is set to supply them with all of their new and replacement carrier bolts.  Don't think he got along too well with James or Bud.  When you pass Emory on the left you turn onto his road about 2 miles after that at a stop light with a small gas station a greasy spoon.  Wind down that road about a mile and his mansion is on the left with a big formal driveway with brick and stucco.  Horses, barn, big white two-story.  I knew I got along with you for some reason.  You know/knew Bryan Causby or Christine Avery?

Worked there right before I went into the Air Force at the the driving range.  The Spanglers are family friends.  Actually met Bobby Hurley there one Sunday afternoon while he was on a blind date back in 1991.  No kidding, got a Polaroid around here somewhere to prove it.

I hit at least two cars driving down 180 teeing off.

Funnest part of that job was driving the ball cart getting bombarded with guys trying to hit you out at about 250 yards and hitting 4 or 5 BIG buckets of balls when the place closed.
