I'm not going to explode like in years past because after seeing last year's mediocre results coming from a million miles away while the same "glass half full, there's always next year" guys kept saying everything was fine...  i decided to permanently lower my expectations.  That being said, it is slightly troubling that we were linked to Church by a credible source in Voth, and yet again, we apparently didnt have any contact with him and/or lowballed him like we do everyone else that hasn't played here already.

So, i see no reason to piss and moan.  When everyone kept hyping up this year's FA period and saying how we were going to spend money and go after well-known guys, I said then and have maintained, "i'll believe it when I see it."  

It's still early, there's still guys like Cyprien, Jefferson, Okung, and Kalil...  but, I don't expect to sign them either.  And neither should you.  Accept your lot as a Panthers fan...  it's all you can do to stay sane.

I'll give Gettleman credit where it is due. He got us out of cap hell. The problem is, I see no plan to get us to the promised land. It is a true fact of life that to have nice things, you have to pay for them. Folks who see us let Norman walk, see no long term for KK, even as a deal can get done somewhere in the middle, know we low ball everyone. That makes folks shun us. The Patriots, possessor of 5 rings can do this. We can't. No need to be stupid with our money, but paying market value is what we are going to have to do if we want Championship teams. We have laid the groundwork for mediocrity.

   Where or what is this " deal in the middle" you speak of? What makes you think KK would accept anything less 17M/yr. What's your plan?
