Welcome aboard

Yeah, in looking around at prospects that could move up with the combine/pro day process, he caught my eye.  In researching him, found out that he was a 5-star #2 rated DE coming out of high school. His measurables don't scream DT for me, but DE. At 6'6", 275lbs, he's got a Jadeveon Clowney/Julius Peppers kind of build, but just needs to put it all together.

Not as polished as DEs like Barnett, Garrett, or Thomas, but right in the thick of it with Charlton.

Def keeping an eye on him at combine.... hope his ankle injury is fully healed, because his athleticism is pretty nasty.

I'd take McDowell at 8, TBH... but slide him out to DE. Totally doable. There should be better players available, but it could come down to Barnett, Howard and McDowell as our options. I'm really warming up to his versatility and length.

I disagree, there is better talent on the offensive side of the ball that will have bigger impact.

DL depth is pretty good with extension of Mario & Horton , we can find better value at DE in the mid rounds.

Drafting another DE would also suggest the DG messed up on the Ealy pick.

I like the Addison addition and should be with an expanded role, instead of situational pass rusher.

Horton, is a sub-package kind of signing. He gives us depth, but for me, it's more as a 4th guy in kind of DE.  I'd rather rotate Addison, Ealy, Barnett/Thomas/McDowell and Horton keeping our d-line fresh. RR and DG both like depth and a player like McDowell is versatile enough to kick inside for certain packages as well.

Not saying it's a lock to draft him, but if guys like Fournette, Adams, Hooker, Thomas are gone, and DG thinks McDowell is better than Barnett and OJ Howard, there aren't too many other guys I'd want.

McDowell screams a DG kind of selection too.... size, length, athleticism and can play multiple positions along the DL. The trenches give DG a hard-on that make his nippleshorts raise up like no other.

Good. Now just comes (apparently) the hard part. Dave not doing something stupid.

Dave wasn't the only one responsible for what happened with JNo. Hiring an agent with zero experience negotiating NFL contracts to negotiate the largest payday of your career should be considered equally or more stupid. The fact he hired a new agent the day after the tag was rescinded only proves that point.

Sorry, but this can't be put squarely on the shoulders of DG. JNo fugged up too.

Big time.

Guys like Thomas, McDowell and Allen will be able to help fill the void once KK leaves as well due to their versatility.

We can save a nice chunk of change on KK by drafting correctly this year.
