you aint seen no flim lol then you would see our d line was sucking ass last year getting gashed in the run couldn't get one bigstop

We had the #6 run defense in the league. We were #4 in 2015. We gave up about 5 yards per game more on the ground. Average yards per carry was identical at 3.9ypc

We were #28 against the pass while ranking #2 in sacks. We were #11 against the pass in 2015. We gave up on average almost 35 yards more through the air. Yards per attempt went up from 6.2 to 7.5.

I think your film analysis might be slightly off.

Only 2 guys broke 100 yards on us last season?

And one of those guys averaged less than 3.5ypc on his way to 100.

Youre not going to shut everyone down and to think that is being ridiculous. The numbers show that we had one of the best run defenses in the NFL and qon of the worst pass defenses. It's pretty much irrefutable.

Via Joe Person & the Observer, contract details for Addison, Horton & Silatolu:

Quote

Addison, who led the Panthers with 9.5 sacks last season and has 15.5 over the past two seasons, received a three-year extension worth $22.5 million, with $11.25 million guaranteed.

Addison will count $1 million against the cap this season, with cap figures of $5.5 million in 2018 and $5.75 million in 2019.

Horton, who became a starter shortly after returning to the Panthers in October, signed a two-year contract worth $2.7 million, with $425,000 guaranteed.

Horton’s cap numbers are $775,000 this year and $900,000 in 2018.

Silatolu, the Panthers’ second-round pick in 2012, came back to Carolina on a 1-year deal worth $855,000, with only $50,000 in guarantees. Silatolu will count $615,000 against the cap.

Those 3 contracts are really very nice bargains.  I think this lays to rest any concern about re-signing Horton.  This is a nice low deal.

I noted Dave had a lot of praise for Addison in his presser today in terms of Addison's improvement against the run and said he's going to play more.  Will be very interesting to see.  If Addison still has even more upside, Gettleman could look like a genius for signing him for 7.5 million per year.
