Bears will not use franchise tag on Alshon Jeffrey. Will become Free Agent.

Honestly it's not out of the realm the panthers have inquired. He's another should have been panther too. With soooooooooo many teams with plenty of money to spend, I just cannot see him without a huge deal. Even with the bad injury history, he's still one of the best overall free agents available.

Just say no to more giant, unmotivated, uninspired "hogmollie" WRs.

We need speed, guys who can get open consistently, and are technicians of the position (who actually care about what they do for a living).

He's a lot faster than KB and Funchess. The guy gets open consistently. His per game production makes our guys look like the JV squad.

My concern with Jeffery begins and ends with his ability to stay healthy. The dude has tight hamstrings.  Maybe the Bears haven't handled his situation ideally. Hamstring issues tend to linger, but at the same time, I'm not sure that it's an issue he'll ever truly get over.

I loved Jeffrey coming out of college.  Out of all the recent "big" WRs over the last 5-7 years that have come out, he was the only one that we had a realistic chance of getting in the draft that I actually wanted.  I wasnt a KB or Finchess guy, but I definitely thought Alshon would've been worth it.

That being said, his dedication to his craft has been a concern from college as well as at times throughout his pro career.  The injuries are a concern as well.  I know he can play when locked in and healthy, i just dont think we can afford to invest much in him to find out if he can hold up his end.  And if not, thats just another "big" receiver with his own issues unique to him.

If we actually went after him, which I see a zero percent chance of happening, i'm not going to act like I wouldn't be excited for the potential, but it's risky.
