Mario Addison said he believes he can be an every down end for the Panthers, but will play whatever role the team wants. He is happy with his new three-year deal. "We met halfway in a good agreement that is a really fair deal for me,'' Addison said. "I made my name here. I came here in 2012 and worked my way up.''

Love this guy. Il assume he will be every down now. I still feel like we get a DE in round one. If we could get CJ back to a sweet deal, draft a stud DE...our Dline will be legit again. Oh, what a steal of a signing too...a little over 7 mil year. That FUPA has super powers

If we get 3 years of above average every down DE play for $22.5M this will be by far the best non-rookie contract in Panthers history. Not yet sold on the fact that we'll turn him into an every down DE but would be thrilled if it happens and would like to see how it would turn out anyways.

What "Gettleman says" means about as much as what Betty White says. It means nothing when it comes to what the team actually does. There were people here prior to last year's draft who didn't think we were gonna "draft for need" either because Gettleman said we wouldn't.

 

He'll be 30 years old come opening day. He is what he is at this point.

Personally, I had assumed Mario was going to sign with another team due to the massive deals DE tend to receive in the free agent market. This was a nice surprise.

If you notice Addison's snap count throughout the end of the season, he nearly started getting into the 60-70% range and more than all our other DEs.
