"We about to put 40 something on them"

You remember the narrative that the Panthers were too cocky? You know, the narrative that was the apparent reason of us losing Superbowl 50?

Well, we aren't the only ones. Just check out what Sanu said:

At least Taylor Gabriel was half sane and had the sense to remain alert. Sanu was already thinking about the trophy he'll never get.

So next time another Falcon fans says the Panthers are "too cocky", remind them of Sanu, and them blowing a 25 point lead.

Gosh this will never get old.

Well FuFu , they may have played better than us for the better part of 3 quarters, but when it actually counted the most they folded like wet paper. That's a worse way to lose than our self destruction in SB 50. You could argue that it would have still been difficult for us to win even without the dumb ass fumbles and dropped passes , but the Falcons HAD the game won and gave it back to the Patriots.

Could you imagine if that was the Panthers? we outscoring the Patriots 28-3 coming off killing steamrolling the entire league until that point, only to have the most epic of meltdowns ever after that? IDK I think that would be worse.

That would be weird though. Since our defense was actually NOT the problem in the SB. They actually held the Denver offense to field goals until well into the 4th quarter . Which is a crazy feat in of itself. The D did their job. The vaunted offense let us down. Just too many turnovers if nothing else, they looked sloppy and unready for the spotlight. And our Tackles simply got horribly exposed.

I'm pretty sure we lost the rematch in wk1 very similar, which completely fuged up the whole season

    • Bryce put it in a spot only his guy could get it only for David Moore to drop it. T_T Tremble and Horn both struggled yesterday and that killed me since they're two of my favourite players. Tommy knows he has to come down with this one. Folks were understandably saying that JT would've caught that had he not gotten hurt a few plays earlier. The more I look at this play, the more I think that Bryce made the right decision throwing it out the back of the endzone. He could have tried to laser it in to Thielen, but that safety is lurking awfully close inside. Insuring the field goal here after a 44sec drive to end the half was the right move.
    • Except Bryce was the main reason we were in it
    • NFL Pro has the All-22 up already 😄 Going to grab a play or two from each redzone series to put screenshots to. Looks like AT angled his route off to the near pylon rather than the back corner where Bryce was throwing to. I imagine this is something they'll quickly try to figure out with Thielen back from IR. After watching the All-22 again, this was actually a pretty nifty play. I thought it was a TE screen to Tremble because of the way XL charged the DB, but he quickly shed and kept upfield as seen in the second screenshot. This looks like it had multiple layers built into it with AT running the crosser, XL the fade, Tremble to the flat. The progression would call for the play to go to Chuba here as the LB does follow Tremble out into the flat. Ball hits Chuba low and in the hands, but the LB does a good job disrupting the catch.
