Proehl plans to help Benjamin get back to that standard at Proehlific Park, a training facility he began in Greensboro, North Carolina, after 17 years as a player.

Because he no longer falls under the league labor laws as an assistant coach, Proehl can work with Benjamin and other Carolina receivers during the dead period between now and offseason workouts that begin in April.

"I still want to be there for him and realize I can be a resource," Proehl said. "He can come down to the park and he can train and we can get him back to the form he knows he needs to get to."

Oh this is EXCELLENT.  I hadn't thought of this upside to Proehl retiring instead of moving to a different NFL team.  Thus he can remain a coach of sorts for those wideouts that hang around Charlotte in the offseason.  Really this is pretty awesome.  Win-Win.  I think we needed to shake up our offensive coaching and Ricky moving on made sense.  (Kind of wish Dorsey had gone too).  But Ricky is a quality coach, and so letting him walk, but having him still involved peripherally is perhaps ideal.

Last year very productive? He had 990 yards at 4.1 ypc that's not really that good. And no we still would have lost the SB with a healthy Stewart. I'm not gonna give a 30 year old unproductive RB the same leeway as Cam. Especially an injury prone one whose already gotten paid handsomely.

Did stew go to the pro bowl that SB yr? He sat out 3 games last yr referring to SB yr. He also shares carries with Cam. He is not bell fom the steelers good., but provides Cam devent blocking and yes Sb would have been different if stewart was running the ball instead of tolbert who fumbled  i believe twice may have been once.Stew is a great back and for his run stule and tyle of line we have he is going to get banged up..i say keep him and add another back it doesn't have to be fornette but someone who has the abilty to make opponents miss and pass protect as well.
