I would take that in a heartbeat.  Baker in the 2nd, Garcia in the 3rd, and Butt in the 4th would all represent phenomenal value.  Switzer would also solve a glaring need we have had for years on this team.  Can we please get Cam a slot receiver who can get open, catch the ball, and make first downs?  Let's try to make his job a little easier.

Gilmore (assuming you are talking about Stephon) is an interesting thought - would Gettleman pay up for a FA corner after letting Norman walk last year?  On the plus side, he's obviously younger than Norman (26 right now) and maybe the defensive falloff last year convinces DG that he made a mistake?

On the other hand, it would appear that we made two good picks last year in Bradberry and Worley.  While every team could always use another corner, who plays inside from that group?  Gilmore is a purely outside corner - especially if you are going to pay him the big bucks.  Bradberry is more athletic than Worley, but is also probably the better outside corner.  Does Worley have the quick twitch ability to play inside?

It would be an outside the box signing, as it would allocate a significant amount of our FA budget to a position that isn't a top 3 need on the team.  That being said - Gilmore, Bradberry, Worley, Coleman, and Baker would be a formidable secondary.  Combining that secondary with an improved pass rush would put the defense right back into the top tier in the NFL.  Meanwhile - Butt, Garcon/Switzer, and Foreman would plug the three biggest depth issues at offensive skill positions.  Garcia might need a year but I think he's a long-term answer at LT, and Kalil/Oher is the stopgap.  WIth better health on the O-Line, I think you'd see the offense rebound to be an above-average unit.

My thinking exactly..

The Gilmore thing is more about getting a vet CB to go with all the youth in that CB room ..He also has Carolina ties being from Rockhill and going to USC..

If we need a cheaper signing .. I could see a Trimon or Sheilds signing to be the vets in the CB room..

I like what you did especially Barnett at #8.

I want see us sort safety, slot receiver and OT in FA. Perfect scenario:

Cruz or Kerley, Whitfield and Reiff (unlikely-but i can dream), Jefferson.

8: R1P8

EDGE DEREK BARNETT
TENNESSEE
40: R2P8

CB ADOREE' JACKSON
USC
72: R3P8

TE BUCKY HODGES
VIRGINIA TECH
98: R3P34

EDGE TARELL BASHAM
OHIO
115: R4P8

G ZACH BANNER
USC
152: R5P8

RB JAMAAL WILLIAMS
BYU
192: R6P8

DL LARRY OGUNJOBI
CHARLOTTE

I would double dip @ DE though, and get a RB later since there is value down the list. We interviewed Basham and Banner so I think they are realistically on the radar. The TE I see happening so Leggett, Engram even Shaheen could swap for Hodges. My wildcard pick is Jackson #40. Reasoning being hes an elite athlete and special teams stud returner-same logic as Switzer. We need that and he can act as nickel CB.
