I feel Philly is the type of guy the Patriots will pick up as a FA and turn him into a 500 yard per season contributor.   We just don't have the right coaching to use him correctly.     I'm not a huge fan, but honestly I'm not sure of what mistakes should have took away touches last year for him.

Funch? What's going to happen to him? Ginn could stay, every good year he's had has been here.

I said it couple of times, but IMO  Funchess really doesn't provide any unique skill set for this team and takes snaps away from players that can contribute more on the offense. Best case scenario is that we trade him for a mid round pick.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, our best line-up for 3x1 is KB/Fun (rotating), Ginn (outside), Brown/Cruz/Byrd in the slot, and obviously Olsen at TE.

That gives us size to target on the intermediate routes, a guy who can take the top of and speed/quickness in the slot to win on the short routes and actually pick up yac.

And when teams go nickel to defend the pass you have an even box count to run with Stewart/Cam.

I'd keep Philly and let him be the WR4 with some potential to be that slot guy if he shows the potential.

Go out and make DeSean Jackson our big splash in FA and let Ginn walk. Also bring in Luke Willson for TE2

No need to bring in a soon-to-be 31 year old Victor Cruz when you have Philly/Byrd for the slot/WR4

Roll with:

WR1: KB13

WR2: DJax

Slot: Funchess

TE1: Olsen

TE2: Willson

WR4: Brown/Byrd
