first off, the Browns are going to try there hardest to keep him. second, the guy is universally hated in the league. I have no idea why but that is not a good sign.

He is going to become an elite talent at the position. If the Browns are going to give him that check then let them, we ain't tryna compete for him.

As far as the hate we shouldn't be worried about that, we have the most hated QB in the league because of his talent and his unwillingness to be anybody but himself.

With all that said, who are some better options through FA in your opinion?

cruz played out of position last year as they mainly lined him up outside, not in the slot (b/c of Shepard). That's why his numbers suffered.

DG actually discovered Cruz when he was with the Giants, so there's definitely a liking. With KB and Funch on the outside, I think Cruz would be a great fit. We struggled converting those 3rd and 4's and 3rd and 3's (that's where we missed Cotchery the most). I think Cruz can fill that void.

He'd instantly have the best hands on the team besides 88.

Good locker room guy and if he physically makes the grade I say go for it and see how it plays out in camp.  He's no more than a 3 in my opinion but he can be a really good 3.  This is all if Shula uses him properly, and that's a huge if.

not interested personally. 30 year old receiver with knee injury... no thanks.. spend alittle more on someone like Adam Thielen, Kenny Stills, Robert Woods, Kendall Wright, Albert Wilson.

But if they do sign Victor, I could see him playing a role like Cotchery.   Possession style picking up short yardage.

we need someone who can stretch the field with speed.

Carolina is looking to fill a hole created by the impending departure of unrestricted free agent Ted Ginn, and faces the potential of losing two of Cam Newton's targets with Corey "Philly" Brown entering restricted free agency. Both Cruz and Ginn are speedy wideouts, though Cruz is the better receiver, and with Carolina's estimated salary-cap space in excess of $50 million (per contract-monitoring site Spotrac.com), Ginn's estimated market value of more than $4 million makes Cruz a more attractive option. Carolina could also use a sure-handed wideout opposite Kelvin Benjamin and Devin Funchess, especially in the slot, where the Panthers have harbored a minor weakness.

Cruz has plenty of other suitors to give a minute or 90 to in the coming weeks -- Philadelphia, Tampa Bay and Jacksonville are all possibilities, as is Baltimore -- so this is only the beginning of exploring where he salsa dances next.

that's a fair counter: I honestly want someone with speed and route running ability.

In order according to realistic/my desires: 1- Kenny Stills 2-Robert Woods 3-Kendall Wright

Interesting....kinda confirms that we're (likely) losing Ginn. I don't blame the guy for leaving for more money since this is going to be the last time he gets a big payday. Hopefully we find a way to upgrade to a speedy guy with surer hands.
