Bookmaker.eu, not an option piece.

I don't doubt that both Berry and the Chiefs would love to make it work, and they do have a history.  But it's business, and the Chiefs have gone buck naked on multiple contracts at multiple positions in recent years, including their disappointing #1 overall pick OT.  They then double down by double dog daring Berry to have a monster year on the tag, which he did.  Now they're between a rock and a hard place, to say the least.  And for Berry, he can be loved elsewhere as well, win rings, and put 10+ million more into his bank account for future generations by going elsewhere.

There's this thing called "cap."

Chiefs? Oh, I can tell you right now they'd be stupid to give him a franchise tag a second year in a row. They are cap-strapped. They'll either lose Poe or Berry, that's because business is business.

lt's more likely Berry is gone. He'll go to the highest bidder, and it's not too insane to think the Panthers might be a part of it as the cap is due to expire soon.

Likely, we don't get Berry but a guy like Cyprien instead. But Berry isn't too far-fetched.

Yes, the Chiefs don't have much money. That's why they have a GM. They can, and will make some room to retain their core players, just as any and every team not named the Browns, do.

Yes, if Berry wanted to, he could be the highest paid safety in the league. No team that has a true chance to compete for the superbowl, is going to throw that kind of money at him.  So that means he'll either decide to play for a loser, and get paid like a king.....or he'll take less money and play for a ring.  His chances for a ring are just as good with the Chiefs, as any other team that wants Berry.

Something tells me the Chiefs stand more chance of retaining him, than any other competitive team that will be bidding for his services, but won't pay him through the nose.

I know you guys want to believe we have a chance at Berry, and as much as i admit i love to stir the pot with you guys, the reality is....

Berry in a Panther jersey is nothing but a wet dream.

The Seahawks have thrown more resources at their secondary than any other team, and like it or not, it's worked.  The Patriots even threw big money at Revis, and, it worked, by beating said Seahawks for ring #4 (after no ring in a decade!).  If you truly think Alex Smith has the same chance as Cam Newton to win a ring, there's no need to discuss this further, I just don't know what to tell you and my mother said if you can't say something nice...

You can't hurt my feelings, especially since you fail to understand.

I'm sorry man but thats just not true, competitors have pretty often in the past thrown money to top free agents. You're just used to the Panther way.
