I'll checkout that calculator. A fast look at your numbers, they seem to add up way more than the space allows. Unless you use some signing bonus tricks to spread out those giant contracts. Plus if CJ  wants 3/21, bu-bye. Forget the numbers for a second, say the panthers have more than enough space. What's the odds that berry, relif, plus KK tag happens? Or even solo berry and kk tag?

I definitely front loaded some of the contracts but that is pretty standard for most teams.  Very rarely do you see a contract where the yearly cap charge is the same.  That is why it is important to look at numbers two to three years out.

With the numbers I was using you definitely wouldn't be spending big time on free agents the next few years.

As far as odds go I really don't expect us to tag Kk, sign Berry, and Reiff but theoretically we could do it without severally hampering our ability to resign our own guys in the next few years.  Personally I don't think he is going to spend just to spend and this FA class doesn't look great.  I could see us rolling over a little bit more then what I was forecasting earlier.  I would prefer to spend $10 million wisely each of the next two years then over spend $20 million this year and none next.

Don't disagree with most of that but I don't see Berry causing problems, and in fact, I think every player on our team would be energized throughout offseason workouts with the thought he is ours.  I'm not deeply emotionally tied to Berry but I follow high school recruiting as well, moreso a decade ago than today.  I recall Berry then, and, what can you say, he's a beast, always has been.  He beat our team and our biggest rival practically by himself in 2016.  I'd give him what he wants as I see it as a perfect match of player and team coming together in 2017.  We'll see.

I should have explained my player issue comment better. I meant if you preach about taking care of your own. Then turn around give a outsider big money while not paying your own. Sign berry and not KK, that may create player issues.

Yes, I'm sure you're aware of the super overspending that happens during the early free agency period. I just don't see Dave involved with "bidding" wars, that for sure will happen with reilf and berry(if available). Your last paragraph shows a clearing, good stuff there. Honestly I prefer a smart stubborn GM over one that spends wrecklessly. It's like fans forgot the mess leftd by hurney. Most times that leads to failure and that leads to a losing culture.

I think this is all bullshit and DG will once again sit on his hands and rely on the draft. I will believe nothing until he actually does something .

You smart.

All it's done is add 4+ million to the 50+/- cap and add two more spots to fill on the 53. Everyone seems to loving this draft, saw a few quotes that even in the 5th round you can find a capable starter(mainly form DB pool).

I've already shown how fast 50-55 million gos, look for the same old same old...... Bargain FAs and a nice solid draft with at least 2 good UDFA

No one knows. Best guess is around 55 million. Give or take a few million, just a estimate. Honestly it changes daily. Best website for cap and cap space- https://www.nflpa.com/public-salary-cap-report

But something afoul there cause many teams are listed with 120million in cap space. Once it's fixed, it's still the best cause it's a official site. Overthecap, sportac, and fanspeak are others with good guesses and infro.
