Other than a stretch of 3-4 days in December, I don't think we've had a winter at all in Charlotte. I still haven't taken my winter clothes out of storage or worn a coat maybe once or twice. Not complaining though.

It's actually quite fun. I much prefer being on a boat or pier but you can absolutely fish from a kayak easily. Just a lot of work getting around...

I have a hobie pedal kayak. Basically biking while hands free to fish. It's awesome. Plus, I can get in areas boats cannot, usually filled with fish.

There is a favorite spot of mine on mountain island lake towards a creek where the water gets to about 6 inches for 100 yards then gets to be about 6 foot deep. As soon as you get there the birds, turtles, fish are everywhere. It's insane.
