He can drop one out of every ten balls as long as he catches the other nine and gains 20 yards each time LOL

Catch rate and percentages don't say much.

Njoku's catches typically bring in huge yards and YAC.

In fact, I'd argue his sample size is small in the fact he wasn't expected to become a solid #1 TE until he exploded in skill.

He's got the work ethic and brains I want in our future TE. OJ Howard doesn't exactly appeal with his work ethic and effort at Mobile. Do not want someone who doesn't show up when it counts.

Tell me, who does OJ Howard face in competition?

Wouldn't you agree that inflates his stats?

Njoku actually outmatches him in athleticism, catching, speed, and discipline.

In fact, OJ Howard may have secretly hurt his stock at the senior bowl. I believe Gettleman threw a false flag, as there are conflicting reports on him.

Seems he doesn't show much effort or discipline at Mobile. Not exactly a good look.

haha you just lost me there, just stop it.

What are these "inflated stats" people are talking about with Howard? The knock on him is that he was underutilized relative to his perceived talent level. And by all accounts he was great in Mobile. This is weird.

I'm curious to know what those accounts said about his performance rather than his perceived physicality. I took the account from a guy who actually does study every rookie detail by detail, and doesn't include bias in his observations.

He predicted Le'Veon Bell to be a stud as well, along with other runningbacks like Howard and co. He also predicted many WRs and TEs who'd make it or fail.

He takes what he sees on film and judges their performance and skillset. Sure, OJ may have played okay to the eyes of others, but this particular guy sees them all-around and where they make those true mistakes that are overlooked.

His blocking technique looks sound, and he's got a lot of potential in that area. Where he does get beat, he gets beat due to his size. He still shows great technique, and I have mentioned he is a fast grower. He's not done getting into his frame yet at all.

This is where my questions lie, Sac.

He strikes me as a Kellen Winslow type, and Winslow was never a special blocker.  With many of our run plays, downfield blocking by receivers and TEs can be important.

How comfortable are you on this?

that's a tough one. as a big miami fan, I really wanted Olsen in the draft that we ironically took Beason in. Olsen was one of the most complete tight end prospects I've ever seen and destined to be great. Njoku has potential to be all-world but also could be very average if he is not polished up a bit. with Olsen it was like, okay this guys floor is starting #1 tight end and his ceiling is HOFer which he's on pace to be.

Not really Olsen had better hands and was taller that's all he had over Njoku. Njoku is actually a better blocker.
