Should we covert KB to TE?

This.

There aren't many "great" WR's in the game.  Julio, Green, Brown, OBJ.  Then you have the Bryants,Coopers, Evans, etc....then you have the KB territory.

We do need a no. 1 in the worst way, but they aren't as common as people would have you believe.

Did you seriously not put Dez Bryant in the "great" group?

Looking for the huddle's opinion on this.   With the poor play of our receiving core,  would it make sense to convert Benjamin to TE and bring in additional WR talent?

Pros:

We need another quality TE

KB struggles with weight,  which wouldn't be able issue.

Picking up his 5th year option may be cheaper

He was viewed as a TE prospect in the draft.

Cons:

He is not a good blocker

If he can't cut it as a WR why the hell would he make a good TE.

Might upset him

Discuss.

So you want him to block even more than he already does?

Lawdy, I think he'd break a record for holding penalties in that case.

Yea, wasn't really thinking all that hard about it....just pointing out that every team doesn't have one of those truly elite guys...much like QB's.

KB is one of the lesser #1's in the league. Thankfully, we have Olsen to pick up some of the slack. Still need a pretty significant talent influx at the position though.

Agreed.  If we can get a RB and legit WR this offseason....we will have a true no. 1 QB, TE, WR, and RB.

We will still need a legit no 2 TE, and a LT that can at least be average.

I'm really starting to get on board with the idea of Corey Davis at eight. He's really good in all areas of the field.

I could dig it, would rather trade back a bit, but if he's the guy in DG's eyes...I'm cool.

We need someone that can get separation off the line immediately.  We just don't have anyone that can snag a 3rd and 4 and threaten anyone other than Teddy...and you can't count on him to come down with it.

KB is too soft to play TE in our offense I think.   Up to this point, he also uses his size in the wrong ways and doesn't use it in the smart way.   He just can't block.

He's a #2/3 receiver being forced to be a #1.   He's exactly what he was in college, etc.     Funchess is also a #2/#3 receiver.

We're just asking them to be something they are not and need to realize this and improve the WR group.

I don't think it's a bad idea. KB is slow as $hit, he can't get real separation from decent DB's. But he has proven that he can catch in traffic. With his size he should be used as a hybrid WR/TE. But I don't think Mike Shula is creative enough to come up with plays to utilize this idea.
